A delightful book!,

This review is from: Little Green (Board book)
A beautiful little book to add to any collection. I bought this for my four-month old and he loves to look at the colorful pages. The words introduce rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration magically. An older toddler would also enjoy trying to find the caterpillar hidden among all the pages!

This is about a little boy who is looking out his window to get inspiration for a painting. He sees a hummingbird. The bird is very quick. We see him fly from place to place all over the garden/The pages are made of stiff board like paper making it easy for little hands to turn. I would recommend this book to parents and caregivers of kids ages birth to 3. Parents and children will enjoy looking for the hidden caterpillar on each page.

This has been my daughter's favorite book since she was a baby. She's now 18-months-old and brings it to me to read again and again. She likes it when my finger traces the path of the bird flying on each page.

Little Green by Keith Baker had my daughters glued 'til the end. And it wasn't until finishing the book that we found out about the hidden little green caterpillar on each page. Then the girls really lit up! They had me read the book all over again so they could participate in the caterpillar hunting challenge. The Illustrations are very well done. And the hummingbird character is so expressive and animated. This book is one of the top 25 books that we enjoy in our little library. --- Robin Christianson, author of Roly Poly Napoleon Discovers Colors

Fun finding the worm on every page,
By
This review is from: Little Green (Hardcover)
This book has been a favorite from about 22 months. As well as enjoying the vibrant colors of the art in this simple book, my daughter loves finding the cute little worm who is hidden on each and every page. She is now 26 months old, and I hear her repeating lines from this book periodically. She asks for it every night.

This is one of our favorite board books. It has great rhythm and is not too long to read to babies. Both of my kids love this book.

I bought this book when my first son was born in November of 2001. He loved tracing the flight pattern of the hummingbird and trying to find the caterpillar on each page. This book quickly became a favorite for my second son who was born in 2004. He is now six and will still pull this book off of his shelf. I am going to buy one for my one year old niece. The illustrations are so lovely. I love to look at this book myself!

A favorite we can keep coming back to,
By Mom A. Mia (Buffalo, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Little Green (Hardcover)
Aside from the beautiful pictures and wonderful rhythm of the story, this book offers some "extras" that we can keep coming back to. For example, the little caterpillar hiding on each page and that little green is hiding on some of the pages. It's also a little bit of a surprise each time that we get to the end of the book.

This book holds the attention of even young readers. My daughter fell in love with it when she was 14 or 15 months old, and she still loves it now at 3. The illustrations are great. It's always a favorite with both of my kids.
