5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent: easy and beautiful "How-To" projects for children, April 29, 2011

This review is from: Little Green Thumbs (Library Binding)
Kid friendly, beautiful, informative and fun!

I'm an elementary school teacher and these projects are perfect add-ons for our science unit on plants...and they are also great to do at home with my 2nd grade niece! There are four chapters: Projects for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter/Anytime. Each chapter has four inexpensive and adorable projects. Kids learn to plant from seeds, cuttings and bulbs. Example: Grow Crocus on shells and pebbles for a nice tabletop display, grow an orange seed inside a pot made of a half orange peel, grow a sunflower in a flowerpot, grow baby tomatoes from seed, grow a "magical" plant, the Mimosa pudica, which closes quickly when touched, from seed.

These projects are going to be fun to do in my classroom, and also fun to do with my 7 year old niece. Of all the plant project books for kids that I've seen, this is my favorite by far!
