I'm not the most creative or organized person. I have a 2-year-old daughter, a 1-year-old son, and am due with a third in 4.5 months. I needed some sort of organized plan for teaching my daughter the alphabet and counting and Bible, because with my busy life, it wasn't getting done! This has been great for creating a focused one-on-one time for us while little brother naps, and I don't have to come up with any ideas because every day is laid out for me.

My daughter is on the very young side for this curriculum (28 months old), and I'm having to modify or skip some of the activities, but so far, we're on week two and she LOVES "school."

This 33-week curriculum takes minimal preparation: all I've used so far are scissors, glue, crayons, fingerpaint, construction paper, masking tape and cheerios. You'll need occasional access to a copier for some of the pages and the letter flashcards. Each week you introduce a new letter with a chronological Bible story to go with the letter. The first week is A-A-Adam, the second week is Noah's B-B-Boat, and so on. The activities are simple and involve using items around the home (stuffed animals, toy blocks, etc.). The lessons take 15-30 minutes per day, and can be modified depending on your child's age.

I also highly recommend the suggested accompaniments to the curriculum. Austin gives age-appropriate suggestions for a child's first bible and devotional book (with pages to read for each lesson or week), as well as Focus on the Family's The Singing Bible.

At Office Depot, for $2.99, they removed the binding on my copy and spiral bound it for me, for easier copying of later lessons.

My two year old daughter and I enjoy using this program. Almost no preparation is required on my part, yet she gets all the adademics (and more) that my older children received at a 5-day preschool, plus Bible stories interwoven through all the learning, and lovely games to teach good and Godly behaviour. I haven't been as faithful about doing this every day as I would like, but my daughter has still learned so much. My husband has been impressed by her knowledge of letters and their sounds.

I have tried other programs with my other children, and I am very impressed by the thoroughness, the ease of use and the results I see from this book.

What a wonderful thing for my 4 year old son. I couldn't get him interested in ABC's or letter recognition or anything. Now we go to the store and he is asking me about different letters and pointing them out. He is excited to tell dad at the end of the day the bible story he learned. It works on art skills, math skills, physical activity and really is a bonding activity for my son and I. Don't hesitate to try this, even if you pick and choose the activities you want to do.

I have three little ones under four and would recommend this for anyone who is thinking about homeschooling, or just wants some fun christian based preschool ideas. ABC's, 123's and colors, along with bible stories, activity ideas and songs. My kids love it!
