I ordered this cd after researching female jazz pianists. It was so cost effective I could not pass it up. So when I heard it in it entirety I was as they say blown away. From the familiar to me like Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin" to the less so like Thelonius Monk's "Bright Mississippi" this disc swings with horns and strings. It has an energetic feel throughout with flawless and innovative musicianship. It is in other words a keeper. Renee Rosnes possibly the least known and youngest of the musicians is there throughout with a light insistent energy that remains part of the ensemble.
