Little Heroes,

I think Reanna ______who played 'Charlie' did a great job of putting across her emotions as she interacted with the dog who was her best friend, and the other girls. It is easy to relate to her because most of us have been left out when we were kids. My grandkids and we like it because it is a true representation of what kids do to each other. It showed how the influence of parents shows up in our kids. Also Charlie believed in her parents love for each other. She was a fortunate one, because it continued on a happy side.I did not like how the husband was always put in the bad guy role. He was always saying 'sorry' when, to me, the wife was the whiney, unhappy one. It just seemed to me she was always putting him down. Farm life is very hard. You can't count on crops. She was not behind him;not supportive, but indignant in her nagging suggestions that he could be making more money. The greatest thing about all Clyde/Fillmore films is that we can count on a film the whole family can enjoy without offensive language, sex scenes, sexual inuendoes or violence.

5 Stars, No Doubt,

I have absolutely loved this movie over the years and am now proud to own it. I use to rent it again and again from the local video store. Little girls love a story about a hero girl and her hero dog!
Tomboy and farmgirl Charlene "Charley" Wilson finds fun and adventure with her beloved dog Fuzz and tries to fit in to her small (California?) town, while her parents struggle with money and crop production worries. In a timeless story of social "class", down to earth Charley struggles to fit in at school with the snobby and richer girls. She is ecstatic to be invited to a backyard tea party at Carol Evans's, only to be made to play the part of the maid, and be treated even worse by Carol's snotty mom. Besides Fuzz, Charley's only other friend basically is a boy Fritz, whom are seen playing baseball together and Charley taking over his paper route while he is out of town on a trip. Classmate Carol comes around and invites Charley to her birthday party, and Charley's mom sews her a beautiful new party dress with a stash of "mad" money she has been saving up. But more disappointments crop up when Charley arrives at the party. Even more worries arise when her neighboring farm man and buddy Alonzo becomes trapped in a piece of farm machinery and its up to Charley and Fuzz, the "little heroes" to saves his life. Alonzo is hospitalized, but will make a complete recovery. A startling revelation is made when Charley and family discover that sweet and friendly Alonzo is actually the father of Carol Evan's mom, and a humbled change of heart takes place when she learns that the young farm girl she had snubbed has now saved her dad's life. In a sad and moving ending, Charley's beloved Fuzz is accidentally poisoned on a neighboring farm, leaving Charley to reflect on the life and times of growing up in her 10th year. This scene of reflection actually opens the movie, with an adult Charley's voice narrating. A painful ending makes way for a new beginning tho, as a while later Alonzo brings a new puppy for Charley, appropriately named "Little Fuzz." This is a truly heart touching tale and wholesome movie for the whole family. After seeing this movie for the first time in years, i was truly shocked after googling Raeanin Simpson, the girl who played Charley, and finding out her life had come to an end in her mid 20's. So sad for a talented and spunky young actress.

depending on YOUR(the parent) religious views - this is a great movie for children. It can really help them understand the first time loss of a pet and maybe help them cope with it better than anything you can say. I watched this when i was young and related to it in more ways than one.
it's really an under rated/under appreciated film. I guess because it is short and simple? its not animated and over dramatized and doesnt have its own line of toys and tshirts?

This is a very cute show. It has good values and is enjoyable for the whole family, young and old. The grandparents enjoyed it even more than the kids. I especially like the dog!

Pleasant Film.,

This is based on a true story and it is a very good one. It basically deals with the irrational bias of a wealthy lady against this delightful, yet cash poor, little girl. The only flaw I saw in the movie was that the time period was not clearly laid out. The clothing used in the film mixed styles from the fifties, forties and even eighties. So that part is confusing. But the young girl does an excellent job of her role and as unlikeable as she is, the society lady was portrayed excellently. It almost has a "Hallmark" feel to it in that the film is a little sad, but pleasant at the same time. It is definitely an enjoyable movie.
