bought for daughters for Christmas. Love this story from when I was a kid and they love it too!

I remember reading this book as a child and it was one of my favorites. I don't recall what happened to my original book, but am thrilled that this book is once again available to share with my nieces and nephews. It teaches children to appreciate, respect, and most of all cherish things from their past. Great bedtime story for children and the illustrations are as wonderful as ever.

Board books are great for little kids who really want to be involved in holding the book and turning pages. Even though the message of the book is too advanced for our toddler, he really enjoys having this book read to him. He likes pointing to the animals and then the cars. Ultimately, I think he'll appreciate the book's message.

I bought this because I remembered loving this story when I was a child. My 4 1/2 yr old isn't so crazy about it. I don't think he get's the concept of nostalgia yet. Might just tuck it away for a few months and try again when he's older.

I am a fifth grade teeacher, but I have taugh many other gades and have grandchildren. I can use the book for every grade level and for many activities. With my smaller students and grandchildren, I use it to find the seasons, objects, discuss if they are living or nonliving and tell their color and/or numbers. With my older students, I read the book and have them write a summary. Most of the time we list the events, order them, and then write the summary. This is one of the best teaching tools I have.

This was one of my first and favorite books as a child. I was glad to find it on Amazon. I purchased it for my 3-year-old daughter, and now it's one of her favorites, too. It's a great bedtime book.

I love this book and have loved it as small child. Anyone who makes their house a home will love it!

A classic children's book, Virginia Lee Burton reveals the four seasons through the life of the little house. Children love the narration as the city slowly grows and dominates the countryside where the little house lives. The progression of illustrations from the peaceful countryside to the bustling, crowded city fascinate children of all ages. Readers share feelings of loneliness and sadness as the city growth slowly squeezes happiness from the little house. The ageless ending satisfies children even though the summer fun of a "water hole" is missing. Perhaps the great-great granddaughter of the little house will build one!

Purchased this book for my daughter because I remembered it from childhood. Hoping that my daughter will enjoy it as much as I did

This is childhood book that my mom read to me and my sister when we were growing up. Next to "Where the Wild Things Are" (remembered the pictures)and "Big Joe's Trailer Truck" (just remembered the title) this book is probably one of the clearest childhood books that I remember. Loved how the house looked happy at the end of the story.
