Little House For The Holidays...Or...Anytime,
By
This review is from: Little House on the Prairie - Christmas (DVD)
Two wonderful stories from the beloved Little House series to warm your heart and make you smile at Christmas Time or anytime!
Take a trip back in time to a vintage holiday classic episode. In "Christmas At Plum Creek",you'll feel the love as you may be reminded of "The Gift of the Magi". It is the first Christmas in Walnut Grove for the Ingalls family. Ma and Pa, Mary and Laura busy themselves trying to get just the right presents for each other. Their days are filled with joyous secrets, loving sacrifices, smiles and tears. Will Laura give up her beloved pony "Bunny" so Ma could have a stove? Even little Carrie will make your heart swell as she remembers the true meaning of the holiday. This one includes the Olsen family....Harriet at her most Scroogelike self, Nels is affable as always, and mean ole Nellie! And it's always a delight to see Mrs. Whipple make an appearance. In "A Christmas They Never Forgot", Laura and Mary are now grown and married, and are visiting Ma and Pa Ingalls along with Hester Sue. The whole family gets snowed in the tiny house and while the youngsters worry about Santa's arrival, the grown ups, each take turns telling heartwarming tales of special Christmas' of their youth. Caroline's story of how she came to love her step father, especially, had me all choked up! It's a wonderful episode to watch at holiday time or anytime and will have you running the usual range of emotions we are always treated to in these wonderful stories. These stories sold separately from the season sets are nice for anyone who just has a couple of favorites, or as a wonderful addition to you family holiday viewing. Look other single episodes and double features sold separately. So gather the youngins around,'get out the way for Old Dan Tucker' and go get those Kleenex, (you know you'll need em) and...Enjoy.....Laurie another great episode sold separatly: Little House on The Prairie Remember Me

Included on the Complete Season set!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Little House on the Prairie - Christmas (DVD)
In a very unclear and probably intentionally confusing marketing move, both of these episodes are or will be available on the Complete Season box sets being released by the same company. This disc includes the Christmas episodes from Seasons 1 and 8. Season 1 is already available on DVD in a complete set, including this episode. Season 8 will be available in the near future. Unless you must have this Season 8 episode now, you are much better off to wait and buy the complete sets (a much better value).

Merry Christmas from Michael Landon & the Entire Ingalls Family!!,,
This review is from: Little House on the Prairie - Christmas (DVD)
I had no idea this was TWO Christmas episodes! Imagine my surprise when it arrived! I thought it was just "A Christmas They Never Forgot." Anyway, I have been a fan of this much-loved series for years. As kids, my bother and I grew up watching "Little House on the Prairie" and every Christmas I get him a DVD. I really think he's going to like this. Every show is always perfect! Michael Landon set the bar of excellence so high that no one in the past 30 years has ever been able to even come close!
These are the main cast members of this family-friendly series: Michael Landon (played: Charles Ingalls) Karen Grassle (played: Caroline Ingalls) Melissa Gilbert (played: Laura Ingalls) Melissa Sue Anderson (played: Mary Ingalls) Matthew Laborteaux (played: Albert Ingalls) Ketty Lester (played: Hester-Sue Terhune) Dean Butler (played: Almanzo Wilder) Victor French (played: Isaiah Edwards) Linwood Boomer (played: Adam Kendall) Richard Bull (played: Nels Oleson) Alison Arngrim (played: Nellie Oleson) Melissa "Missy" Francis (played: Cassandra Cooper Ingalls) Jason Bateman (played: James Cooper Ingalls) Rachel Lindsay & Sydney Greebush (Carrie Ingalls) Wendi & Brenda Turnbaugh (played Grace Ingalls) These are the 2 eps that this DVD incldues, with the original air dates & show descriptions: Christmas at Plum Creek December 25, 1974 The entire Ingalls family works (extra) hard to earn money for Christmas gifts. Carrie even finds a penny in an old hat box. Laura decides to trade Bunny to Mr. Oleson! Charles raises extra money, as well, by reconstructing a set of wagon wheels. Ma and Mary each take up sewing as their family contribution. And, on Christmas morning everyone gets the surprise of their lives! This ep is from Season One . A Christmas They Never Forgot December 21, 1981 Mary and Adam come back to Walnut Grove (from NY) for a rare surprise visit. When the entire family is snowed in, everyone sits around the kitchen table and tells some of their fondest memories. And, one of the stories even includes is a Christmas clip from the Little House Original Pilot Movie, with Mr. Edwards! "A Christmas They Never Forgot" is from Season Eight . Merry Christmas!!!
