Book Description

In Two Little Kittens Who Almost Went to Veterinary School, Dulcye Jensen Haslett writes about the two kittens that share her home. She adopted both when they were very young, and she had to feed them kitten formula from a bottle.

They came from a litter of five kittens and were brought into the author's family through unique circumstances. (The three other cats in the litter live with one of Haslett's daughters.)

In this book, Haslett illustrates how these tiny little kitties learn to take care of themselves, even when they cannot walk without falling. The author wrote this story to bring joy to young children and to let older people know animals with special needs can have a gratifying life, just as humans with special needs can.

About the Author

Dulcye Jensen Haslett lives in the middle of the United States. She was born on a farm and grew up during the Great Depression. As a result, she has grown to appreciate the training her parents gave her and her siblings about being thrifty.

Haslett worked as a legal secretary for about thirty years. During that time, she married and raised a family.

After becoming a widow, she wrote a book about the fifty-plus years spent with her husband and gave copies to her family at Christmas. One of her granddaughters, an elementary school teacher, told Haslett after she read the book, ''Grandma, you have a flair for writing.'' Taking that to heart, Haslett wrote this book.
