5.0 out of 5 stars Believe the hype people, February 5, 2000
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
I would just like to say that this CD is off the hook folks. I am a rabid acid jazz fan (Heavies, Liquid Soul, etc) and have strayed away from todays "everyone sounds the same" R&B but this is different. N'Dambi is like a cross between the sensuality of Maxell, vocals of Badu and the passions of NdegeOcello. Throw in a little jazz sound of Incognito and there you go. Pick up this CD because it is becoming hard to find. The sad fact is that it isn't "todays sellout" R&B but not jazzy enough for a jazz station. Radio stations won't know how to classify her but I do; just damn good music. Keep up the work N'Dambi!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music..., April 2, 2002

N'Dambi tears it down when she backs up Erykah and she really did a fantastic job with her debut CD. "Sunshine" is something that I can play over and over again as well as many others. She's unique and very talented. I hope a big record company picks her up one day. Like her name, the music is unique and deserves a bigger audience. I was hooked when I saw her do a tribute for Nina Simone in Philly at an IAAAM funciton. She had cats standing up and screaming. Get this if you don't have it already....

5.0 out of 5 stars its me again still giving extra stars, February 3, 2000
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
Its 2000 and I'm still riding with this CD in my car, at work in my CD drive, at home in the changer. This Goddess is one of the best out there now. I know every song word-for-word. And taking a Quote from another reviewer, "I think that black stations are missing out on a lot of talent and opportunities to enlighten those that are not aware" I saw her for the second time at Yin Yang Music Cafe in Atlanta and she ripped it. Looking forward to hearing from her in the furture on tour or on CD. WHATEVA! Go get it, go get it, go get it! and while you there check out Fertile Ground {title:} Spirtual War

5.0 out of 5 stars N'Dambi IS DA BOMB!, January 6, 2000

This CD is off-da-hook! I had the opportunity to see her in concert in ATL this summer while touring with Grenique (Motown) and we witnessed one of the dopest live shows. N'Dambi has so much good energy and it is shared with us both through listening to Little Lost Girl Blues and seeing her live. I can't wait to see her again! If you like good/soulful music, this is NO DOUBT a CD you want in your possession! - 1luv

5.0 out of 5 stars I've listened to this CD almost non stop, July 30, 2000

This is one of the tightest albums around yet no one seems to have heard of it. I have had this album since January and very rarely has it been out of my CD player. She infuses old school R&B with jazz (The Meeting) and even spoken word (Picture This). If you are looking for an Erykah Badu repeat you won't get it here. N'dambi is her own woman. If you are like me and tired of listening to "cookie cutter" acts where everyone is doing and saying the same pick up Little Lost Girl Blues you won't be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Diamond in the Dark, June 8, 2000

Get this album. N'Dambi is currently known as Erykah Badu's backup singer (the one with the big orange 'fro)but soon the world will recognize her own shine. She is a singer with a gorgeous, bluesy voice and a songwriter with the ability to get to the heart of her emotions. Even her poppy, 70's referenced track, "What's Wrong With You" is a lush, relaxed ballad.

Think Erykah Badu with some sorely needed extra weight. Pick this CD up and pat yourself on the back for discovering "the next big thing" before she happens.

5.0 out of 5 stars IF you love underground soul like me, this is a must have..., June 9, 2000
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
After a year and a half of having this soulful voice in my CDplayer, I admit I haven't removed it from my CD changer sence I firstput it in. I still have a copy for the car, one for the home and another for my computer at work. (well actually 2 original CD's and 1 I copied on my CD recorder)I love this CD from the first track to the last. My favorite song on this CD is "Soul from the Abyss" and others that stand out are "The Meeting", "What's Wrong With You?", "I Think For Sure" and "Lonley Woman". I know every song on every track and I listen to this CD just about evry day. The energy she brings to her songs are they key points that forces me to fall in love with this CD. I had the true pleasure of seeing her perform twice. Once was in Atlanta at the Ying Yang Cafe' and it was one of the best performances I ever attended. I wrote a review on this CD in Amazon before but it was deleted. I'm glad Amazon put her back on there music list so I can spread the word on this 100% soul sista. This CD is a must have, believe me on this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars BUYITBUYITBUYITBUYITBUYIT, March 7, 2000
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
Soulful, jazzy, smoove... Her voice is the bomb... Singing, scatting... Ugh... Just buy the damn CD! You will NOT be disappointed! Confirms yet again, that more often than not the back up singers can blow the lead out of water. No disrespect to Ms. Badu, but she cant hold a candle to N'Dambi.

Unfortunately this is another gem that is going to have to be passed on by word of mouth, cuz no one I spoke to is hip to this... And if it wasnt for me catching the 'Whats wrong with you' video on that BET 'Out The Box' show, I wouldnt have heard of her either. Couldnt find this in the stores, had to buy it on the internet. Like Patti says, "When youve been blessed... Pass it on". Buy it, love it, but by no means should you keep this to yourself. For real.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will love it!, March 12, 2000
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
I absolutely love this CD. In this crazy crazy world with life's everyday hectic pace - I am always searching for a soothing smooth sound to relax to after a rough day out in the jungle. N'Dambi is a smooth mix between Meshelle, Maxwell, Sade and Badu. Unfortunately, finding this CD is tough - but thanks to the internet it can come right to your front door. Buy it - You wont be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent vocals and the music is inspiring and uplifting, November 16, 1999
This review is from: Little Lost Girls Blues (Audio CD)
This cd is fabulous! A wonderful debut from N'dambi. I look forward to hearing more from her in the future. I think that black stations are missing out on a lot of talent and opportunities to enlighten those that are not aware that there's alot of substance out here! I would recommend this to all.
