GAIL WELLS is an essayist and an independent writer and editor specializing in natural resource topics. She is the author of The Tillamook: A Created Forest Comes of Age (OSU Press) and Lewis and Clark Meet Oregon's Forests, coauthored with Dawn Anzinger (distributed by OSU Press). Wells was awarded a fellowship for the Summer 2006 Fishtrap Gathering. She lives in Corvallis, Oregon.
