I bought this for my soon to be 2 year old. While she loves it, I seem to have the opposite problem as the other reviewers. It takes forever to set the doll off. No amount of moving your hand gets it on. In fact we have yet to figure out what does set her off. She will occasionally just take off, but to get her to move when you want her to is a work of a miracle. When she does crawl and babble, my daughter adores her and will giggle and laugh. But now she's at the point she's kicking her in frustration trying to get her to do something. Cute toy, but very aggravating.

I was worried after having read some of the reviews on here about getting this baby. I ended up getting the baby doll anyway because my daughter really wanted a "crawling baby" for Christmas. This one seemed like the best value for the price. She was really happy with it for a while. It talks and laughs in a cute way and it crawls around. After the novelty wore off, though, it hasn't been played with very much. It's not a fun doll to play with because it's not cuddly and you can't really hold and nurture it. It stays in the crawling position. This one pretty much gets left in the box now while softer dolls are usually selected for playtime.
The doll hasn't given us any problems. Both of my daughters pick it up and yeah, it does click if you try to hold it while it's crawling, but it's not too loud and it hasn't ruined the doll at all. It's actually been quite durable. This doll has done all I expected from it and even though my daughter no longer favors it I am happy with my purchase.

I got this for my daughter this past Christmas. She loved it for about the first few weeks that it actually worked. She no longer crawls. My daughter is 4 and though she may have been a bit rough with it, she was no more rough with it then any other average 4 year old child. I tried replacing the batteries, etc. and sometimes she'll work for a few minutes, but most the time I can't get it to do anything beside make a couple noises. At this point, all we can do is hit it on the head to make it do anything.
