I bought this book because it reminds me so much of my grandson, Ben, who has been lovingly referred to as "Little Monkey" since shortly after birth. He loves animals and is becoming very skilled at inventing excuses designed to delay bedtime. I thought it a perfect gift for his second birthday and am hoping it will help him settle in saying, "Good night, Me."

This is a fine book if you want to teach mischief and disobedience. I really liked the first book we got from this author and illustrator If Animals Kissed Goodnight, so I went searching for another book. The illustrations are nice, very calming and soft, great for bedtime. But, the story is about a monkey who creates great havoc and gets snarled at by various circus folk. We still use it occasionally for our 18 month old, but I change the words which will work until he starts to read or recognize the displeased expressions on the characters' faces.

Both of my kids love this book - it is fun and simple, a "good night" favorite at out house. We liked the illustrations so much we purchased a second one to frame the pages for the baby's room.

We are always looking forward to Ann Paul's next work and stock up on them as gifts for our grandchildren. Little Monkey is another winner, might be the best we've seen for the age group!
