The minipop versions of this series are a must have for infants! I take these books with me to restaurants with my 11 mo. old. The books are small and easy for little fingers to hold and not too cumbersome for a restaurant table. The pop-ups delight my son even after looking at them a hundred times. Truly the best books for my money.

I used this book with all three of my grandchildren - they really loved it and would request that it be read often. My husband would make a sound each time he opened it to a monster - rah rah - is what he'd say. And that sound stuck as a name for him. Our grandchildren are older now - all of school age one is going on to middle school - and that name has stuck with him all these years. They write him cards and letters addressed to RahRah - and he wouldn't have it any other way. We are truly thankful for such a colorful and delightful - easy to hold the attention and can be grasp by the smallest of hands - book. Thank you Jan Pienkowski for making this wonderful book possible and thank you to all those involved in the publication of this book.

I bought this book in 1990 for my son. Fast forward 21 years and I ordered it for my granddaughter. I love it. I still have the original, a little worse for the wear. I decided to check Amazon and found the book. I was thrilled! Now I can enjoy this book with my grandchildren. I am overjoyed.

I first became acquainted with Jan Pienkowski when I bought his book, Christmas, in about 1986 for my young children. His illustrations are not only beautiful and captivating, but also display a rare originality. I have recently retired from a teaching career, and I have a huge collection of children's books that I am giving away or selling. In this process, I ran across these pop-up books. They inspired me to start a collection of quality children's books, focusing on pop-ups, that perhaps my great-grandchildren will someday enjoy. Little Monsters definitely fits the bill, along with any of Pienkowski's other superb work.

Children love these pop-up books and funny monsters - not scary at all! Of course you must read it to them and hold it away from their little grabby hands or they will rip into it!

I bought this book sight-unseen largely based on confidence inspired by another of Pienkowski's pop-up books, "Dinner Time". While this was a cute book, I was slightly disappointed; the pop-ups were not nearly as entertaining or complex; the simpler style of the pop-ups, combined with a less engaging narrative (obviously I'm not expecting much from a childrens' book of this nature, mind you though I am comparing this to "Dinner Time"), and I was not as happy with this book as I had hoped. Without the expectations cast by "Dinner Time", I'd probably have given this 4 stars, but due to my expectations based on Pienkowski's other work, I can't give this more than a 3 star rating.

I have discovered this pop up book to be a wonderful card to be used to just make someone's day. I add notes to certain pages or even each page and it just becomes a fun way to express how I feel.
