Colin is on holiday in Scotland with his parents. He walks along the banks of Loch Ness disappointed that he didn't see the Loch Ness monster, when he finds what he looks like a large ball wedged among the reeds at the edge of the loch. He picks it up and discovers that it is not a ball...but an egg. A huge egg! He puts it in his backpack and takes it home to incubate. Herein lies a wonderful adventure.

About the Author
Julia Mowery was born in London, England. She moved to the U.S. in 1961 and now lives in Florida. She has always loved to write, especially having five children and ten grandchildren. "Writing stories for children makes you feel like a kid again," she says.
Little Nessie is her second book. Her first book 'Once Upon A Witch' is about a young girl's adventure with real witches at Halloween.

Little Nessie is a wonderfully delightful children's story. It is a new take on a much loved Scottish myth. My children (ages 8 and 10) loved the story.

I had no idea what the reading level of this book would be. Probably my own fault.... I bought it for my 3 year old who is Nessie-obsessed. It's a little over his head, but my 6 year old loves it. Very cute.
