Come Rain or Come Shine,
By msteak racecar (new york) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Little New York Midtown Music (Audio CD)
this session is a gem, the last track, "Saguaro", has a great arrangement - swinging in full mode, with nice build up from Adderley and Griffin (at his best here)... the track alone is worth checking out the title at your local library store. Ron Carter plays a wicked bass riff on the first track, "Fortune's Child" and the second track, "A Little New York Midtown Music". "Yeehaw Junction" is a soulful bluesy tune, with Nat contributing his beautiful sub-tones, and Griffin playing the heartfelt blues. The rest of the tracks are equally a delight for the savoring... Come Rain or Come Shine.
