5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I bought this as a first birthday present for my twins. I figured that we'd give it to them, but that they wouldn't be really ready to play with it yet - how wrong I was!

They LOVE this toy. The animals are just right for picking up. They love to show me the animals and have me name them, and are even starting to get the right one if I say, "Where's the panda?" or...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good toy at all
Our daughter received this and the Animal Sounds Zoo for her first birthday. The zoo gets played with several times a day and this sits on the sidelines ignored. My first complaint is that the ark comes apart into too many pieces. It is hard for a toddler to assemble it and certainly isn't portable at all. Secondly, the edges of the toy are actually quite sharp as I...

I bought this as a first birthday present for my twins. I figured that we'd give it to them, but that they wouldn't be really ready to play with it yet - how wrong I was!

They LOVE this toy. The animals are just right for picking up. They love to show me the animals and have me name them, and are even starting to get the right one if I say, "Where's the panda?" or whatever. It's a toy that they go to time and again throughout the day. They have even figured out how to open the ark and they like putting the animals in and taking them out.

I love that I know it will last for a long time, because as they get older, they will be able to play "imagination" games with it.

The details are amazing, too. The animal pairs are easily identifiable as girls and boys - all the girls have blush and pink ears, while the boys don't, as another reviewer mentioned. Noah and his wife (in our house, her name is Betty) are built so that if you stand them next to each other, they hold hands. It is just too cute! It is this kind of extra detail that shows to me how much thought Fisher-Price puts into their toys.

I did buy one of the extra animal sets and plan to purchase the other one today. There is certainly room for storage of all the animals inside the ark.

This is a wonderful toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Role Play!!!, May 3, 2004

I am always on the look out for toys that allow role play for the children, not toys that think for them or take the fun out playing with them at all. I just love the little people toys. Why? Because not only does my 6 year old daughter continue to enjoy these particular toys (plays with them everyday) but they allow role play and they can be matched up with the other accessories very easily. They are also safe for when my older baby starts walking and begins to get into everything in the house. The only downfall to this noahs ark is that there are only three pegs to hold the people or animals on. In storage or when not in use, the other animals (or noah and his old lady) have to be loosely tossed inside of the ark, which has multiple large windows. Otherwise, it is very colorful, and the sex of the animals (girl/boy) are easy to tell unless the toys get faded in the sun ((the girls cheeks are rosy)). My daughter may never outgrow these cute people and their "sets". A very wise purchase and definitely not the last for the little people.

We registered for this set when I was expecting and were so glad to have it to pull out of the closet when our daughter was about 9 months old. She's coming up on her second birthday and we're still so pleased with this toy. The animals are very cute - they come in pairs of course, but the female animals have a little pink blush on their cheeks and sometimes some other distinguishing characteristic to set them apart from the males. We have fun lining the animals up two by two and seeing how far across the room the line stretches. (We also have the 2 supplemental animal sets.) The Ark has fun details on/in it like a check list of the animals and a photo of Noah and his wife. The different configurations for the ark make it a more versatile toy. It also can store all of the pieces in one place. The whole set is very durable as proven by my daughter's occasional rough handling of it. Definitely recommended!

My son turned one and we wanted to get him a special toy from his grampa. We started with the Leap Start Musical table and found that even though he loved it, the sensor went out after two days! I took it back and got the Little Touch Leap Pad which he was also interested in but when he couldn't press the sensors (not even I could do it very easily) he became disinterested.

Finally I read some more reviews and got him this much cheaper Noah's Ark set. He LOVED it!! He couldn't even wait for me to take it out of the package he was so excited!! Right now he loves to move the pieces around and put them in and out. He even notices if one of the animals is missing and gets it from across the room!

I am beginning to realize that all the lights and whistles of these new 'educational' toys may not be the best at stimulating young minds. Toys like 'Little People' seem to stimulate creativity and don't have any bounds to where their minds can take them on their learning adventure.

Who would have thought that sticking to the simple toys would bring so much excitement to a little todler!

I highly recommend this and any Little People toys!

I bought this for my son on his first birthday. He is now almost 2 years old and continues to play with it daily. The ark is very sturdy and opens and closes pretty easily. The animals are also made very well. This toy also encourages imagination and free play, which I think is very important. Overall this toy is very cute and I'd definately recommend it. The only disappointment was that I felt a need to purchase more animals to make the toy more complete.

This gift was for my Nephew's 1st birthday. Having no kids of my own and living about 5 states away, I had NO IDEA what to get him. I remembered playing with Fisher Price when I was a kid and thought this was very cute ( I love animals!). I read some of the other reviews about this product and found them to be very positive and decided on this for his gift. I'm so glad I did! My sister said "He LOVES it!". He takes the animals with him on car trips and loves to take apart and put back together the ark. I would recommend this product to anyone with small kids, and perhaps anyone not sure of what to get small kids as gifts.

I loved the Little People toys as a kid, and wanted my 1 yr. old daughter to as well. But it was hard to find ANY of them that did not need batteries to make sounds. The Noah's Arc one
is just like the ones we used to have! Plus there are extra
sets of animals you can order to have the whole crew. I love
that she needs to create her own fun with this toy and not just "push a button" as most toys for her age group are now!

My daughter received the Little People Noah's Ark for her 2nd birthday. She tends to play with this Little People toy more then the others she has even though it doesn't have any bells or whistles. She loves the animals and enjoys setting them up in pairs and putting them in the ark.

My 20 month old daughter received this toy for her birthday. She loves to open and close the Arc and can't get enough of the animals. Sometimes she tends to be a little rough with the larger toys and I do worry that she may break the Arc but the animals are VERY sturdy. They are the perfect size for her to play with, and she never seems to tire of them, so I ordered the additional pieces. Let's see if she is as amazed with them.

I babysit my 22 month old grandson 2 days a week so I try to have interesting toys for him to play with. This is a toy he plays with for hours and he keeps going back to throughout the day. He arranges the animals in different places each time he plays with this toy. Sometimes he brings the animals up the ramp, sometimes through the trap door on top, and he also likes placing the animals on the pegs on top as well. He gets so focused as he opens and closes the ark and arranges all his little people, you can just see his imagination running wild. The toy is well made and very user friendly for the child. His second favorite toy is the Fisher Price Little People Farm with Sounds. This is a great gift for your toddler.
