Little People Animal Sounds Zoo

My daugter received this for Christmas when she was 1 & 1/2. It was one of those "also ran" type gifts that my wife and I got for her... It was basically an after-thought, not one of the gifts that you carefully pick thinking this will be the "one" gift that is cherished. It was one of the last presents that she opened on Christmas day - but once it was out of the box, she could not be pulled away. Six months later (and a birthday along the way) it is still her favorite toy.

She fell in love with the elephant and brought it with her everywhere. Enventually she lost it and asked us where he went every day for 3 months. I finally called Fisher Price to order a replacement - which they were very good about sending (at a small price) a replacement.

The toy is very simple and leaves a lot to the imagination. All the pieces are very durable (just keep an eye on them if they are so coveted that they travel frequently!).

For her birthday my daughter received the "Little People Home Sweet Home". Also a huge hit. Sadly, the "dad" from the Home Sweet Home set has been evicted by my daugeter - in favor of the zoo keeper from "Animal Sounds Zoo" who seems quite pleased with his new-found wife and family ;)

Great toy!

I bought this for my daughter several months ago when she was 15 months old. It has been played with nonstop ever since. She loves to organize the animals, moving them around and talking to them. Good toy for imaginary play.

I have a 10 month old and an almost 4 year old who sit and play TOGETHER with these toys, which is quite an age span to entertain, especially since they will both play for long periods of time with these toys. I like that there are enough electronic sounds to be entertaining (and are easy enough for my 10 month old to work), but do not limit the activity or imagination levels. I also like that the pieces are large enough that I don't have to worry about choking hazards for my younger child, and the animals are soft enough that she likes to chew on them and they are EXTREMELY durable (considering they have been jammed in the toy box a number of times and still look brand new). I also like how they encourage lots of imaginative play...which to me is as educational as anything. A great set to collect and to give as gifts. I cannot praise these toys enough!!!!

My twin girls got this toy for their 1st brithday, and they LOVE it!! At first, they just liked pushing the buttons to hear the different animal sounds (that bird can really get annoying!!) and taking the fences apart after I put them together. It wasn't long before they were both roaring like the lion and bear. Now, at 18 months, they "feed" the animals and make the people walk around. They know where all the animals "belong", but they also let the animals drive the car and visit one another. They like to take the animals with them, even in the bath!! My girls can imitate any animal sound you can think of, as well as identify animals when they see them, and this toy really helped. Their interests change as they get older, but this toy will really grow with them because there is so much left to the imagination!! They won't get tired of it too quickly, which is good at this age!

My son got this for his first birthday. He is almost two now and he likes to play with the animals and the fence rather than the actual zoo. A previous reviewer noted that the sounds are loud and I would have to agree. The bird sound is the most annoying and irritating thing I have heard yet on a toy. It is also my baby's favorite sound on the zoo. The other animal sounds are not bad at all. Over all, it is a great toy for young children.

My daughter received this toy as a gift from her grandmother. Immediately after receiving it she loved it. She mimicked the noises the different animals made, and would play with it numerous times a day. After being thrown around, kicked, and slammed, the zoo still works perfectly. I can hardly believe it. I would recommend this toy to any parent who has a child between the ages of 9 mo. to 3 yrs.

My 20 month old daughter just loves this toy. If you get the zoo train to go with it you are set. She has not stopped playing with it and loves to make all the animal sounds.

I'm not a fan of electronic toys, so I have never put batteries in this toy. I think that it's more important for children to use their imaginations rather than sitting passively to let the toy entertain. Even without sounds, this toy is a lot of fun. It comes with several animals (a seal, lion, bear, elephant, and bird) all in their own enclosures. There are pictures in each area showing what the animals eats. For example, there are peanuts in the elephant bin, fish for the seal, and fruits & veggies for the monkey. It also comes with a zookeeper figure and a truck. I love that there are so many accessories included. My son plays with this toy for hours on end. It's taken more than its share of beatings since we bought it (almost a year ago now), but it still looks just as good as when we took it out of the box. It's a wonderful addition to the Little People line of toys. Sure to be a favorite in your home!

It is not as enjoyable or educational as the Little People Farm. The figures are too big for the setting and the sound effects are less than realistic. There are too many pieces which get separated from the main setting.

This is another really cute little people toy. My kids and I love these toys. This one is really good because kids can learn the animal sounds by pressing the buttons. My daughter likes to connect the fence and put each animal in its right place. This is a very durable toy, my kids push the monkey button so many times I want to scream, but it keeps on working!! I just wish Fisher Price would come up with a good storage solution for all of the little people toys we have!
