4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for toddlers
Both of my girls, ages 2 and 4, enjoy playing with this bus. It comes with about four Little People and a wheelchair. The side door and back door open (for wheelchair access), the headlight/eyes move as the bus rolls, and the stop sign can be pulled out from the side of the bus. It plays two songs, beeps, and makes a "voom voom" sound.

3.0 out of 5 stars Annoying music/songs
My son likes to play with this toy - however since he has already figured out how to make the songs play, he plays the songs constantly. Personally, I think the music/songs are annoying and quite frankly, not necessary (Fisher Price could easily have gotten away with no sounds, or just "bus" sounds at most). Regardless, my son likes to open/close the doors and play with...

One thing I like about this bus is that it moves only by kid-power, not a motor or wind up, so it can't go too fast and bump into things. It tends to engage the kids in more quiet play, rather than some of the motorized toys that zoom around the house. Also the noises that it makes are not too loud.

This toy has paid for itself in terms of the amount of use it gets. If I could only afford one Little People toy, I'd choose the Farm, but the bus is reasonably priced and the kids love it, so if you can afford it, get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Twins' Favorite Toy, May 9, 2003

I bought one for my twins when they were 15 months old. They fought over this toy so much that we now have two. My boys are 22 months old now and every single day when they wake up this is the first toy they play with. It plays "The Wheels on the Bus" and "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands". They enjoy putting the little people in and out of the bus. It's well made, except for the doors, which pop out too easily. This toy stimulates imaginative play and they look for the real school bus out the window each day now. I would highly recommend this toy for any child that enjoys cars and trucks.

My three-year-old son loves this school bus. He likes to load the kids on the bus and make the bus driver talk and sing songs. He has learned empathy by helping the little people with disabilities (with the wheelchair) on and off the bus. It is good exposure to the idea that not everyone is the same. However, it was shocking to have to describe that to a, then, two-year-old. One of the first questions he had that I really had to think about the best way to answer. Other good features are the stop sign and two doors that open and close.

I got my nephew this bus for Christmas when he was 18 months. He likes to dance to the music the bus plays when you push down on the bus driver. He likes to open and close the door on the bus and take the people out. The good thing is that the driver doesn't need to be sitting in the seat for the music to play, so if he is "missing" you can still have the bus play music. There are two doors to open and close, and a stop sign on the side of the bus pulls out as well.

We bought this for our now three year old, who loves it, but is having to get used to sharing it with his 1 year old sister. This toy gets played with often throughout the day - every day, so I definately think it was a good purchase. I like that it it teaching my daughter fine motor skills when she puts the people in their seats. We've had it for almost 2 years now, and it has held up very well, and doesn't show any wear. The music and voice is a little annoying, but my kids love it. I am suprised with the age reccomendation though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very durable, but the electronic voice is creepy, January 9, 2005

My 21 month-old son completely adores this school bus. He piles in all of the little people (included) as well as some stuffed animals (and attempts to put our cat in as well) and takes them for a ride around the house. The bus has survived tumbles down the stairs and getting stepped on by daddy in the middle of the night without a scratch (daddy is another story). Like lots of Fisher-Price toys that unfortunately relies on an array of lights and sounds as substitutes for a child's imagination, this schoolbus has NO "OFF SWITCH," which is quite irritating. And the voice of the bus driver is completely corny in an annoying way. Needless to say, I found better use for the batteries on this thing.

We were so impressed with our sons attention to the little people amusment park that my husband ran out and bought this and the construction set the same night!! Our son is 21 mos. and loves this toy, he pushes it all over the house. I am really impressed with the little people toys in genreral. I had them when I was growing up in the 1980's and I remember how much my sisters and I loved them, then.

My son received this toy for his 1st birthday from a friend of mine whose son also received this toy. She said hers loved it but I didn't understand how much the kids LOVE this toy. The bright school bus is eye catching and the face on the front make my son smile back at it. The toy teaches him to put things in and take them out. It teaches action causes reaction by pushing on the bus driver to make the songs play. The flashing lights and songs keep his attention. You can point out the wheels and explain how they're round. It's his size for him to carry around or push. He plays with this toy the most and we have a lot of toys for him. It's definately one of his favorites!!
So now I understand HOW much her son loves this toy as mine does as well!

I bought this for my 11 month old daughter b/c she has shown an interest in little people toys at play group. I like the fact that it has so much room for growth (ages 1-5). First it's a nice chew toy, then familiarity with people and every day items. Second the little people are very diverse. Third they are very durable and should last through multiple children and whatever they can throw at it. Can't go wrong with this toy.
