My three-year-old loves animals, so this seemed like it would be perfect for her. So far, it's been better than I imagined. It helps her practice her animal names & sounds, she gets to practice her ABCs & match up the letters to their names. Even the picture that was on the back of the box has become a learning toy. She has us read the names of the animals to her over & over again. We ask her which one starts with "J," for example, and we've made a game out of matching them up.

I suggested this toy as a birthday present for my daughter's first birthday last month. I knew that the age recommendations were 2 and up, but she has loved the animals from the Noah's Ark so much that I couldn't resist. She LOVES it. She looks at the animals very closely because there are so many different ones and she carries them around and talks to them. She likes to push the dots on the mat to hear the noises. She also loves to put the animals in their carry pack and carry it around. Of course, given her young age, she needs assistance when playing with this and her attention span is limited. Pickup of all 26 animals can be a chore, but at her young age, I only get one Little People toy out at a time so that we don't have too many pieces to sort through. I know that it is a toy that we will have around for years. And, given the number of Fisher Price toys we have in the house (many of them older ones), I know it will last for as long as we need it and then longer!

My 2 year old son got this for his birthday (three months ago) and he STILL plays with it everyday. He knows all the names of the animals and their sounds (and don't you DARE try to call the iguana a lizard!) :-) He doesn't use the playmat with them too much anymore, but he uses them in a lot of other ways. The other day, he had some of the animals running his little people construction site!! This was a gift, so I didn't purchase it. However, I would pay twice the price for the use he's getting out of it! I do have to stress, though, that my son does LOVE zoo animals, so if your little one doesn't, it may not be as big of a hit.

We bought this for my 2 year old daughter because she has several of the other little people toys and she loves it! So the mat comes folded in a box, it does straighten out. If had been any bigger, it would have been too big. I really love the fact that it comes with a little storage bag that all of the animals actually fit in. This makes it very handy for traveling. She loves to take it the grandparents house and show them all of the animals. She has learned a lot from this toy in a very short time. A little costly, but a very good toy!

I have a 3 and a 4 year old, and both thoroughly enjoy this toy. I was worried about it being too "young" for them, but my son and daughter are animal enthusiasts and this toy is a jumping board for learning a lot about the different animals. I have never been disappointed by Fisher Price's Little People collections, and this is no different. I highly recommend- especially if you have animal lovers in the house!

My son loves Little People. This toy is worth the extra money because of the added educational value that the other LP toys don't have. Each animal has a letter which corresponds to the letter of the alphabet on the mat. Just like the Leapfrog Fridge Phonics, when you press the letter, you hear the name of the letter, the sound the letter makes and then a word beginning with that letter (the name of the animal). You can also hear the sound each animal makes. One big improvement is that FP FINALLY gives you a little zippered case to pack up all the animals instead of having LP animals all over the floor. My son loves to carry the case around with him. The ice waterfall and the tree are lots of fun and inspire my son's imagination. More pricey than other Little People sets, but this one is worth the extra $$.

We bought this zoo for our daughter for her third birthday. She was already a huge Little People fan, so we knew she would like it. She is in love with this toy! It has really interesting animals, and the scenery is also engaging. Any little animal lover will love this toy!

My daughter, my husband and I all love this toy. It is very cute and educational. She loves to carry the animals around in the case and she also loves the sounds that this toy makes. It is easy to put together and it is very bright and sturdy. It is one of the best toys I have seen on the market. I am glad she got this one. My daughter is younger than the recommended age, she is 1, but she still sits in front of it and plays.

We actually bought this as a gift for a friend, and were kind of disappointed when we saw it set up. The only neat thing is that there is the ABC mat, but it wasn't really impressive enough to improve the rest of the set. Ok, it's cute that there are 26 animals in the set to cover the alphabet... but there is only a cave, a tree and a waterfall... where is everyone going to live?! These sets have always encouraged imaginative play - it's kind of a drag that there aren't homes for everyone included in this set. There is room in the three mentioned places for only certain animals, then the rest are just in limbo. It was kind of sad. The set is also not as nice as the previous zoo (which was so nice, great sound effects, perfect size, nice add ons). It has a cheap feel to it - the seam on the lion's den was poorly melded together, and it's light and dinky, not sturdy like previous sets. The mat is a wrinkly mess, and the fences are cheap and few. I would definately never buy it again. For $40, I expected a mini Bronx Zoo I guess!

This toy is so great - just for the big bucket o' animals. They are the perfect shape, size, texture for little tot's hands. The play mat thingy is kind of crappy & stoopid . . . BUT this price is OUTRAGEOUS. It's available for HALF this amount on some other major retails sites. (Think big, obnoxious discount chain store) Check it out.
