Alf Proysen is a very cherished Norwegian author. He has written books, plays and songs for people of all ages. Fortunately, his children stories about Mrs Pepperpot, the little old lady who suddenly one morning woke up and found herself diminished into the size of a teaspoon and how she handled all the adventures that came about as a result of this, have been translated into quite a few languages, among them English. We used this book and some more Mrs Pepperpot stories as gift to friends in America this year, in the hope that they would read them to their grandchildren. I found the translation very good and recommend it as well as the other stories about Mrs Pepperpot. I am a grandmother myself now and still a child at heart, thus enjoying rereading them. These stories by Alf Proysen have delighted two generations of Norwegian children by now and hopefully more and more children around the world!
