I was soo excited to get this book for our kids after seeing it on the a.m. news for christmas gift ideas. The idea is wonderful and the book is well made, pigs are too cute, BUT I was disappointed to read the pages to find they changed the story. I know it said in thier own review "a kinder gentler version of the story", but I had no idea what to expect?I do not see the need for this at all. Whats wrong with this little piggy ate roast beef, this little piggy had none? It reads...this little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little piggy ate cookies, this little piggy had fun, this little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home. As cute as that IS, its NOT the story we all grew up with, so thats my only complaint. I wish they had left the story alone.

My 9 month old son loves when I read and "act out" this story to him. It's fun and colorful, and just as the reviewer said, the words are a bit different than what we grew up with. However, I say "who cares?". Many fairy tales have hundreds of different versions and it's beneficial to children if they are introduced to several different versions.
