A Pony's Rainbow House,
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: My Little Pony Ponyville Rainbow Dash House (Toy)
Don't be fooled by the price - this retails at big box stores and B&Ms for about $15 dollars. It is not in the same durability league as the heavier Tea Pot Palace and other larger Ponyville houses. However, due to its construction, even the smaller Popcorn Movie Theater is more likely to hold up to rough play.
The main problem with the house is that the rainbow slide is easily broken off. Its the mode of transportation across the rainbow for the homeowner, RainbowDash (who is included with the house). The house itself, is very colorful, cute and overall beautiful. Who wouldn't want to live in such a fanciful home? It also comes with a rainbow hammock that hangs inside the house. My daughter was crazy to get this when she saw it but does not play with it as much as the other Pony houses. It just simply doesn't have as much to do as the other ones... (Teapot palace as the rotating floor and music, Pinkie's balloon house has a bathtub, etc). Overall its a cute house and for $15 is a good addition to your Ponyville village.

Rainbow Dash's House,

I bought this house for my daughter a couple months ago. This was her first Ponyville piece - it is so cute and colorful. I don't think the colors are overbearing. In fact, I've def. seen a lot more outrageously colored toys!
This is an extremely durable toy. I took it with us to my MIL's house over Thanksgiving where my DD's cousins were there. They did not treat the toy gently at all! But I was relieved (and surprised) that the toy held up to being tossed across the room and numerously thrown on the floor by my DD's cousins. The cloud DOES come off, but you can easily re-attach it back onto it's little peg. In fact, I was more worried about them losing the parts of the house than breaking it. Please be warned that the parts are very small and shouldn't be used by any children who still put things in their mouths or have siblings who may do so. My only complaint is that the door doesn't open, but that doesn't stop my 3 year old. We plan on purchasing many other pieces to expand on her Ponyville!

We love all these my little pony toys! They are all so great especially these smaller ones which we take to restaurants to keep our 5 year old occupied. She plays with them everyday (we have all of ponyville toys) and it really encourages pretend play. She started playing with these at 2.5 yrs old and still loves them at 5!

My 4 years old bought this toy for herself with money from my greatgrandmother. We found it on sale for five dollars. She is very careful with her toys so I'm sure it will hold up. It is her only ponyville item and she loves it and all its little pieces.

This is the only negative review I have written of a ponyville item, normally these things are really great and hardwearing, this one is not.
Firstly - the breakable bit, the rainbow lift which Rainbow dash goes up on breaks and cannot be repaired - really annoying as it goes really quickly too. Secondly - the letter box which forms part of the whole ponyville set is simply a empty open box in the side of the rainbow, all the letters fall out of it and get lost Thirdly, I just didn't like the custard yellow of the house with the rainbow, I thought it was a bad choice Lastly - the other sets we have (fancy fashoins, the ice cream parlour, the tea pot palace, they are all played with endlessly, All the others seem hardwearing and despite having many of them for well over a year still have absolutely no problems. We had use RAinbow dashes house for less than a week when it broke - and it happened to the next one we got as a replacement too. Not good design and definitely now what I expect from Ponyville. So, my 4 and 6 year old don't really play with it much, and it breaks easily. My advice, go for one of the other amazing Ponyville houses you can get instead. |
