According to Marengo Films own website... This DVD package does contain the 1939 "Little Princess" with Shirley Temple, but unbelievably, this two movie "bargain" actually contains a 1968 version of "Heidi" starring Maximillian Schell and an unnamed, unknown girl playing Heidi. NOT Shirley Temple! I was really looking forward to buying this DVD for a friend's birthday who specifically asked for Shirley Temple movies on DVD. What a huge disappointment!

This is not the Heidi with Shirley Temple in it !!! Don't' be misled to think both of these movies are Shirley Temple because they aren't. I feel it's kind of misleading. It would be one thing if it said Batman or something, but most people know Shirley Temple made a Heidi movie and assume thats what it is. Well it's not. Also the quality of this DVD is very poor, and no it's not my DVD player or TV. Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

I was extremely disappointed to find that even though this DVD is billed as Shirley Temple that she is only in The Little Princess and not Heidi on the same DVD. Clearly mislabeling and maybe even worse. The Heidi version is from the 1960's and is an unknown Heidi.

Having read two of the reviews where this DVD was panned I felt after watching it that the reviews were unfair and misleading. The box actually says Heidi is the Maximillian Schell version and not the Shirley Temple version... on the front and the back!

As to the films, the story of a little girl's search for her father and her struggle aginst poverty is a lovely story. Arthur Treacher is a treat to watch as he dances with Shirley Temple in this fantastic story.

Heidi is much the same, a treat for any child, especially young girls.

The prints from this studio are first rate, the sound is perfect. I have to wonder about the motivation of the person who panned this disk. For the price this is a great value and I am very pleased and I am sure you will be too.

It is VERY dishonest to present the DVD is such a way as to allow the buyer to think they are getting two Shirley Temple classics. Why would anyone package these two movies together other than to mislead the buyer. The picture on the DVD cover shown on Amazon is not what I received.

I was surprised to see that Shirley Temple is not the star in Heidi. I feel that I was mislead. Also, the quality is not up to par. I would spend the extra money and buy the studio release of these films.

This is the absolute best print of The Little Princess staring Shirley Temple. The print of Heidi is also superb. The Heidi stars Maximilian Schell and Jene Simmons. Both films are superb family entertainment. A bargain of two films for the price of one and a well done effort by Marengo Films.

This is the best print I have ever seen of this film! Hats off to Dallas, TX based film buffs Marengo Films, they really take the time and effort to do it right.

The Little Princess is one of my all time favorite movies, I have seen it on AMC and other TV stations over the years. I was so impressed by the quality of this film released by Marengo Films!

After reading all the reviews I was a little worried about this DVD. I have to say that the reviews panning this DVD are very misleading.

The Little Princess is a great movie starring Shirley Temple. This is a classic story which will appeal to Temple fans. Shirley plays a little girl in search of her loving father. Rumor has it he was killed in the Boer War yet her faith does not allow her to believe that is true. She is forced into poverty and degredation. Her dance routines with Arthur Treacher are delightful and her interactions with all those around her are just fantastic and could be used as a model for our children... oh I wish!

Heidi starrs Maximillian Schell and Gene Simmons in the tale of a little girl whose wonderful spirit changes all those she comes in touch with. I found this version of Heidi to be charming.

Both of these prints are excellent and the reviews which state differently are just not true. I did look at the cover and it does state that Heidi is a bonus feature and I don't feel cheated. Indeed for the price I consider this DVD a bargain. It is a wonderful double feature for young girls and I highly recommend it.
