A charming new twist on a classic lullaby

It's time for one little puppy to go to sleep. He and his boy have had a busy day full of running, splashing, leaping, and chasing, but it's hard for this little puppy to settle down.
To the tune of the classic lullaby, the soothing rhythm of this bedtime story will calm any young creature feeling reluctant to say good-night to the day.

From Booklist

Warm and cozy, this new version of the classic lullaby, "Hush Little Baby," has a small boy trying to settle his puppy for the night. Soft-toned illustrations show the uproarious fun they had all day, chasing sheep and fetching sticks: "Remember splashing through the creek? / Your sloppy smooches on my cheek?" Now they are done with their big day: "It's time to quiet down and stay." In a fun twist at the end, the little dog will not settle down until he is allowed to curl up in bed in the arms of the blissful boy. The cover picture of boy and dog asleep will grab young preschoolers, as will the rhymes that tell a sweet pet story along with the lullaby. Rochman, Hazel

This review is from: Hush, Little Puppy (Hardcover)
My 2 yr old daughter loves this book about a puppy. It has beautiful pictures, and the whole story rhymes. Perfect for toddlers!

Here is the first half of the book-"Hush little puppy, don't you bark, it's time to sleep, it's growing dark. Curl up small, warm, and glad. Think of all the fun we had. Remember splashing thru the creek? Your sloppy smooches on my cheek? You fetched every stick I threw, though your nose was very blue! But now we're done with our big day, it's time settle down and stay. No more fences left to leap, no more chasing bikes or sheep...."
