A great book for puppy, and especially Brittany, lovers,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Puppy (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
The great photographs and clear text have made this book most beloved by both of my sons. I bought it when I was pregnant with my first son 13 years ago. Dog eared and tattered, it has withstood the test of time. All children who love dogs will love the playful puppy featured, and anyone who owns a Brittany Spaniel will be enchanted.

When we got our new puppy I bought my 4 yr old twins this book. They LOVED it so much they took it to pre-school to have the teacher read it to all of thier friends. I like how it taught them to think of how the puppy is feeling and what puppies need.

Personally, we loved this book BECAUSE of the pictures. We didn't really care about the story. Purchased a copy for my son and another for my husband. As owners of Brittanys for many years, we were in love with the pictures of the pups. Incidently, Welsh Springers have dark noses and Brittany's have pinkish eraser colored noses as these dogs clearly do. We are expecting a litter in a couple of weeks and I plan on purchasing copies for each of the new pup's new families to enjoy. It is not often that you can find something really special with your breed featured, so we were delighted with the book. If you want to believe that these are Welsh Springers, well I hope you enjoy the book as much as we do.

I gave this book 5 stars because my two boys, ages 4 and 7, love this book. It's not particularly interesting, it tells the story of a boy named Tim and his day-to-day life with his puppy, Charlie. We've owned it for over a year. We recently adopted a puppy and now the boys are even more enthusiastic about the book.

Our 5 year old daughter already had "The Little Kitten" book from the same author, so we were pleased to find this one. She received it for Christmas and loves this one as well! The photographs are adorable! While this one has quite a few bigger words and she cannot read it herself, she loves for us to read this one to her. If you have a child who loves puppies, they will love this one!

This is a decent book, with the unusual feature of being a series of photographs rather than drawings. It tells the story of Tim and his newly acquired puppy, Charlie, and tracks their relationship as Charlie grows from a wiggly puppy into a full-grown dog.
The pictures are cute, but the story line is kind of mundane, without any fantastic elements or big adventures in the works. Still, your child might enjoy the gentle, simple story that wanders from episode to episode without a great deal of thought. I'm not sure that this has the capacity to entertain or educate a child as well as some other books out there, but it at least provides a good model for a relationship between a young boy and his dog.

A Great Puppy Book for Children and Adults,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Puppy (Library Binding)
A darling book with precious photographs and a sensitive story line. The featured puppy is a cuddly Welsh Spriinger Spaniel (no, he's not a Britanny) with a cute personality. Children will love this book and adults will love reading it to them.
