Book Description

April 1, 1997
A collection of classic tales about America's greatest pranksters in action. This book details an aspect of the fire service that the public rarely sees. Teams of firefighters working 24 hour shifts on an organized fire department can often be a very stressful experience. And traditionally, starting way back in the early days of the horse drawn apparatus, the fire guys have tried to wind down back at the firehouse by plotting some of the damnedest pranks on their fellow firemen. That's what this book is all about. A must read for every rookie firefighter and a sure giggle for any old timer.

Review

I've heard stories like these for over 20 years, and I laugh every time, even though it's probably not PC of me. Enjoy! -- Firefighters Bookstore

4.0 out of 5 stars Firehouse book reviewed by a firefighter, November 8, 2003
This review is from: Little Red Book of Firehouse Pranks (Paperback)
This is a very good book documenting the little-known pranks firefighters play on eachother all the time. The public really has no knowledge of the fact that pranks are a long tradition of firefighters. This is truly a unique book because I've never heard of another which is dedicated to this subject.
Most of these are "Classics" and aren't some of the more bizzarre or cruel ones I've heard about (or experienced). The writer plans on making a sequal containing write-ins, so if you want to see your name and prank published, send it to him. He'll give you a free copy of the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars A few laughs, April 19, 2006
This review is from: Little Red Book of Firehouse Pranks (Paperback)

Most of the pranks were good but three things bothered me. The one about the quarter in the black neighborhood, I would have skipped telling that one. The story about the man cheating on his wife & mainly how the writer didn't seem to be bothered, even in the slightest, when telling either of these stories. Infidelity & making fun of poor minorities just rubbed me the wrong way. Well bragging about it did anyway. I'm from NYC (FDNY in the family & friends), I know it's out there & happens but he was telling the stories to be humorous & instead I was left with a creepy feeling about the author that carried on for the rest of the read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Little Red Bookk of Firehouse Pranks, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Little Red Book of Firehouse Pranks (Paperback)
I purchased this book for my husband, who is a Firefighter.
I read it along with him and all of the stories rang true,
as He had plenty of his own stories through the years.
It was a delightful read :)
