5.0 out of 5 stars Scotch Faerietales, July 9, 2011
This review is from: Little Book of Scottish Folklore (Hardcover)
This little book is fantastic, full of wisdom, wit, and fantastical tales. All manner of Scottish traditions and superstitions can be found within, as well as numerous verses of poetry and balladry, including but not limited to:
Loch Lomond
Tam Lin
Burn's Ode to a Haggis
and many others.

This book carried me through my entire childhood in a sense of wonder and joy. I used to enjoy quoting the little superstitions, and they still influence my life. The stories are well portrayed, and the traditions I learned on the rites of passage still influence me today. I'll never wear green to wedding, and I certainly know what to do to get a changeling baby back. This little volume is a fantastic addition to the collection of any interested in faerie tales or folklore.
