Got my feet wet February '03 at a small intimate setting in Long Beach, Ca...the man knows blues...the man is very accessible...genuine and real...the whole rythym that makes the blues what they are...he was carrying on entire musical conversations with my girls and me...way too cool!! Never experienced Doug? Now's a good time to begin...I KNOW you won't be bummed...just a little BLUESed...from head bob to toe tappin...

Doug Macleod is a musical genius. His lyrics aren't just lyrics, they're stories. Doug is one of few artists today who can tell a good story. Doug's guitar playing is just as impressive as his lyrics. He's a marvelous picker. He can use a slide. The sound of his guitar is amazing. By the way he uses National Guitars. Doug is traditional blues artist. I saw him live at a blues festival. Every song is more than good. Every song has soul. You can feel what he wanted you to feel in that song. Overall a great buy.

Just got this cd and I love it.Best blues I have heard in some time. Better than Leadbelly and Robert Johnson put together. THE NEW PANAMA LIMITED is a classic. So is East Texas Sugar. To put it simply, cannot possibly pick a favorite song on this cd. When it comes to acoustic country blues, Doug MacLeod is THE MAN!!!

I love this CD. His voice is great, the playin' is great also. It's top notch blues at it's best! Also check out Guy Davis, Eric Bibb, Snooks Eaglin, R.L. Burnside, John Mooney and Chris Thomas King for some other great blues!

I saw this guy live at a little concert in Blue Lake, California at a little cafe that closed down. He is an amazing guitarist and a true blues guitarist. He is also a very nice personable guy too. If you ever get the chance to watch him play in person do it! He is amazing!
