I hope she writes more just like this one.

This album has a wide variety of song styles, but all are lushly orchestrated and very personal in nature.

If you get the chance to see Jessie perform live, go for it!

I too heard Jessie Baylin being interviewed on NPR. The music instantly struck a chord with me. It is so reminiscent of 60s girl-group pop but it fits very well into the new millennium. Baylin was inspired by the great Brill Building songwriters. The music is very much in that mode, and her voice is perfect for it, girly but not too precious. It's hard to compare her voice to anyone else singing today, but Laura Veirs is close. Baylin is completely sincere and invested in the music. If you are turned off by She & Him, as I am, I would definitely say to give this record a try - you might just find what you're looking for.

I am liking this record the more I listen to it. The music is so infectious, I always find myself humming it after I turn it off. Initially I was a little underwhelmed by the lyrics, but they don't bother me so much after listening several times. (After all, the lyrics that came out of the Brill Building do not usually qualify as great poetry.)

Jessie Baylin is married to Nathan Followill from Kings of Leon. I don't see those two acts on a double bill. Baylin is way softer and more vulnerable. Physically she styles herself to capitalize on her resemblance to Dusty Springfield.

Although Baylin says she was not trying for a retro sound, to me it's pretty retro, and that's what I like about it. Also that it doesn't sounds like anyone else singing today. Retro and fresh at the same time - that's a good combination.

I just listened to an interview of Jessie Baylin on NPR about Little Spark. When I got home I immediately went online to purchase the CD! The sound is inspired in part by Dusty Springfield/Burt Bacharach, and is phenomenal. I loved that music when I was growing up and this recording is spot on!!! I hope she writes more just like this one.

It's refreshing to get away from the "top 40" and listen to someone I've never heard. I bought this CD and also "Firesight" as a result of seeing and hearing Jessie sing with Dave Stewart on "The Blackbird Diaries." I'm now a Jessie Baylin fan.

This woman is hard to place. At times she sounds like country and western and other times like soft rock. She wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on this album and is extremely talented. The CD is terrific.

This album has a wide variety of song styles, but all are lushly orchestrated and very personal in nature. A stand-out in this era of "everybody sounds alike" music.

I just heard the track "I feel that, too" on the Adam Carolla Show podcast, and absolutely had to buy the album. Jessie Baylin as a sweet, well-developed voice. Her songs are slow to moderate in tempo, soulful and beautiful. Great music for relaxing, writing, or otherwise setting the mood.

"Hurry Hurry" caught my ear a while ago and I bought the song. Then I heard "Holiday" with such a great guitar melody, I immediately bought the album. Its a great listen all they way through. Not groundbreaking in any way but so well done, a little bit pop, a liitle bit country, a little bit R&B, but a total success. Sometimes I hear a little Mazzy Star, sometimes Julie London, "love is wasted on lovers" is a little Amy Winehouse even. I love this album!!!
