I love embroidery. If you've read my reviews before, you know that's true. If you love embroidery as much as I do, you will love this book. Aneela Hoey has taken the intimidation factor out of the art of embroidery.

She covers everything from the tools you'll use, to how to transfer the patterns, the stitches and how to use them, as well as how to do specialty stitches, and how to care for your embroidery once you've finished stitching the designs.

The designs are quite unique. They are delicate and full of color. These are designs will have you taking a trip back in time to coloring books, paper dolls, and long summer afternoons creating art as you play. The designs are irresistible. Ms. Hoey gives you ideas for quick projects that you can make with your designs.

So if you have always wanted to embroider, were not quite sure how to transfer the designs, a bit intimidated by the stitches and not sure what to do with the embroidery when you're done with it? This book covers all that and more. I know I'll refer to this book again and again as I keep on stitching.

First of all let me tell you that I am a novice at embroidery. I was very hesitant about pruchasing this book because I was afraid the designs would be too complicated. Wrong!! The designs are great and the instructions that Mrs Hoey provides are extremely easy to follow. Plus she is very encouraging and inspiring!! If you are experienced in embroidery you will not be disappointed!! The patterns are absolutely delightful!!
And as a bonus the embroidery go along with her new line of fabric "Sew Stitchy", so if you are a seamtress or quilter like I am then you will be delighted!! Bottom line! Great book, great patterns and a great bargain!!

Have followed Aneela Hoey's blog so I am familiar with her style. And this book does not disappoint. The projects and transfers are just so unique, clearly reflective of Aneela. I look forward to stitching up many of the projects. Her line of Moda fabrics will accent the handwork very nicely.

I am generally a machine sewer and hardly will do hand sewing since I'm not so confident in hand stitching besides closing opening of a stuff toy. But I've always wanted to try embroidery and was keen to learn more. I really love Aneela's Red Riding hood fabric range and made them into quilt cover, dresses for my girls. Her stitch pattern is so girly and sweet.

I love it that she provides more the stitch pattern on print and on transfer paper. Although if they can be on CD rom and then I can make some changes and print out on transfer paper would be good. ANyway, it's a beautiful book visually. I can't wait to do up the project to enhance my sewing project like having it on a fabric book cover or a tote bag.

This is a beautiful book with great instructions on how to do certain stitches. I love having this book in my collection and will be using it a lot for sweet children's gifts and for some of my own personal items. I love that the designs coordinate with her fabric lines and I think many will go with other fabric lines in the future. Just sweet simple designs.
