Nine stories, each with chapters, describe the adventures of a six-(almost)-seven year-old boy growing up in West Virginia and Ohio in the 1950s. As in the first book, Little Ned is at the center of things trying to make sense of the world around him. Mysteries abound: Is friend Urshy a little witch like she says? Is Santa real? Where are the coal miners? Why haven't they come home? Is first grade for dumb kids like Billy Smith says? Why is Laura such a tattle-tale? Why don't Mother and Daddy believe in ghosts? In the process of answering his questions, Little Ned (and the reader) come to a better understanding of what life has to offer.

About the Author
Edward Allan Faine has contributed to thirteen books, ten as author, eight of which are children's books, namely: 1) The Ned Series (Little Ned Stories, More Little Ned Stories and Ned Ventures); 2) Picture Books (The Balloon Galloon, How The Frog Got His BREE-DUP!, and Bebop Babies); and 3) Fun and Games Books (How-ToCowboy and How-To Cowboy Joke Book).
In connection with his books, Mr. Faine has performed numerous times for children at day care centers, schools, summercamps and festivals, notably as the How-To Cowboy, where he teaches kids how to whistle through their tongues, play hand trumpet, talk like Donald Duck, tie a neat knot and other secret, magic how-to fun tricks.
