Great Belgian Pop/Dance/Techno, Sophomore Album, November 30, 2003
This review is from: Little Things (Audio CD)
This is the second Sylver album. First thing that I want to point out is that there is not as much Trance strings/sound in this album, as there was in Chances (their Awesome 1st album). So if you are looking for Trance sound (e.g. PVD, Kai Tracid, Ferry Corsten), you might be a bit Disappointed. There is still a lot of Modern Techno arrangements and even some Trancey synths, but just not as much. The album is a bit more Pop than the first one, so I subtracted one point because I like Melodic Trance strings.
But Let's talk about the Songwriting on this album. One word describes it "WOW". It's Amazing, and that's exactly where this album gets its Strength. Regi Penxten and Wout Van Dessell wrote 10 BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING Songs for this Album. They are all Very Catchy and All are Original (NO Covers). They Prove that they are not just DJ's or Producers, but they are also AMZING SONGWRITERS/COMPOSERS.
There are 2 ASTONISHING Ballads on this Album. They are "Shallow Waters" and "Little Things" (Title Track which I think could have been longer than mere 2:43). These 2 are soooo Beautiful, they just took my Breath Away. No Words to Describe their Beauty.
All other Songs are more Techno/Pop oriented, with Sylvy's Angelic Vocals.
All songs on this album are filled with Enormous Amounts of Emotion and Melody.
I wish there were more songs on this Album (But Quality here Wins Over Quantity).
I also wish there were a couple of Remixes at the end, like the Amazing Remix on their first album. Unfortunately what we get as a Bonus Track here is a French Version of one of the songs from their first album. I really Did not Care about it at all.
Overall, It's a GREAT album, with a Beautiful Modern - Pop Sensibility. IMO When Compared to Sylver, American artists like Avril Lavigne, Pink, Madonna, Jewell etc etc DO NOT STAND CHANCE. Regi and Wout Blow all of them out of this World.
This album is a Must-Have and a Great Addition to any CD Collection.

Great Sophmore Album, February 4, 2004

I prefer this one over their debut but it's a bit expensive. My personal favorite tracks would be Living My Life, Why Worry, Wild Horses, and Weeping Willows. If you have the extra money and like poppish, r&b trancey type of tunes then this would be a good buy.

Incredible!, January 22, 2005
This review is from: Little Things (Audio CD)
Little Things, following Silvy's debut album Chances, is incredible. The tracks on Little Things are wonderful for dancing, relaxing, or putting your mind in a different world. Livin My Life is one of the best tracks. For the listener who is really in tune with the music, it provides a sense of serenity, hope, and a brighter future; plus it totally rocks to dance to. The video for Livin My Life is amazing as well! Anyone who enjoys techno, trance, eurodance, or all types of music, will love this album. Silvy's beautiful voice provides the listener with hours of relaxation and pleasure! A must have CD!
