Bloc Heads, August 29, 2004
This review is from: Little Thoughts (Audio CD)
After the awesome `Banquet/Staying Fat' single I had a little feeling that the next Bloc Party single would be weak but IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN BANQUET!!!!!!!!!!!! Little Thoughts starts of with distant guitar noises, then a drum rolls and the listener is then plunged into the song (a trick only Bloc party can do) needless to say that it has a great hands in the air chorus and make you feel jettisoned into outer space.
`Tulips' is the first official Bloc Party ballad and even when they are in slow mode they excel. It starts of slowly and changes pace when singer Kele Okereke yelps `You're the one I love' and then you get goosebumps for the rest of the song.
The last track is a remix of banquet which is quite good and dancey, but it does not beat the best remix I heard this year, which is the Futureheads mix of the `Streets Fit but you know it', however the remix complements the feel of the single.
So what we have here is a top notch package from one of Britain's best and freshest groups. Can't wait to salivate all over the next release!

3 Tracks of Greatness, September 29, 2005

Sure the title track is good but the unreleased song Tulips is worth the admission price if you manage to find it. It's a great song and really catchy even though it's mellow.
