Book Description

Little Tiger and Big Tiger meet some other animals on their way to the store, and although the store is closed, everyone is able to get what they need.

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Ages 3-6. When Big Tiger and Little Tiger start to bake a cake and discover they have no eggs, they set off for the store. Along the way, they meet Lion, who needs flour; Hippo, who wants butter; Goose, after apples; and the Chicken sisters, off to buy sugar and tea. The store, however, is closed. To solve their problems, the animals offer to share the ingredients they do have. The Tigers then bake the cake and invite everyone to enjoy it. Kids (and cooks) will identify with this all-too-frequent culinary predicament. The breezy text, humorous color drawings (complete with large Hippo riding a small skateboard), and pleasing story line are sure to entertain. Rows of ingredients decorate the opening pages, and rows of completed cakes enhance the ones at the end, providing a strong visual confirmation of the before-and-after concept. Deborah Abbott
