1.0 out of 5 stars Little Tykes Explorer Wagon
I bought this wagon for my 4 1/2 year old. The first one I received, the sides did not fit into the base properly. On the second wagon, the holes in the wagon base (where the wagon and the handle are connected with a steel rod) were not drilled in a straight line. The handle could not be attached. Needless to say, it also went back. I am a fan of Little Tykes,...

The negatives for this have been the removable sides when she was younger. Watch behind you when pulling your child because once they discover how to remove the rails they will do it over & over. My little one did this when I was pulling her and I saw it before she fell out. This is now no longer a problem. The only other drawback is the size. My daughter can ride, but can not maneuver it on her own. It's too big & awkward for a child to pull successfully;frustrates them. My suggestion is to get a small toy wagon for them to put things in & pull.

Overall a great toy.I Definitely recommend this.

I am a fan of Little Tykes, but I am not a fan of this wagon. One being returned is understandable. Two being returned means I will find another wagon. Tighter specs would have solved the problems.

A great toy for a child to haul things in. It has a smooth, quiet ride, better than any I've seen. It is comfortable & easy for a child to ride sitting up, great for zoos. It also has a lot of room. My child also likes the removable sides. I would recommend this sturdy wagon to anyone!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Wagon, but Perhaps Not the Best Choice., December 19, 2001

This wagon is overall well designed and extremely durable. It is also relatively lightweight, which makes it easy to load in the back of the station wagon for a trip to the zoo (or wherever). We have had lots of fun with it over the past several years. However, if I were to make the decision over again, I would purchase a wagon with rubber tires. The plastic wheels on this wagon are really noisy when riding along the sidewalks, and going over curbs or other bumps in the road (or gravel pathway) are much rougher and more difficult to maneuver than in a wagon with rubber tires. Granted, my 3-year old has never complained, but I would appreciate the extra benefits of the rubber tires.

This wagon is fun for my now 3 year old son. He received this wagon when he was 1 1/2, It was fine then, but now his legs are so long that there is no room for his younger brother in the wagon. It is not a very roomy wagon, and although they say that the wheels are "quiet ride" wheels, they are pretty loud. So this is only a good wagon for one passenger.

I first learned of the Explorer Wagon when my son (18 months old at the time) was in the pediatric hospital for open heart surgery. The wagons were used to cart children back and forth to different locations within the hospital. During recovery, rides in the wagon helped to lift my son's spirits, and my husband and I both agreed that we needed one at home. Today, my son is 2 1/2 years old, and enjoys pulling his 1 year old sister along in the wagon. It's great for walks in the park, trips to the zoo, as well as storage space for toys. Always keep safety in mind because my kids would try to stand up while the wagon is in motion, and standing is a no-no. The Explorer Wagon is definitely a must-have in every child's toy arsenal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Christmas Wagon, March 7, 2001

My two year old daughter begged for a Christmas wagon when she was 2 yrs old. A friend bought her this wagon for Christmas, and she beemed with joy! She is six now, and has two other siblings that enjoy the wagon just as much as she does. In fact, this wagon is so roomy, and heavy duty, they can all ride in it at the same time. I highly recommend this wagon to people who are looking for a sturdy, long lasting toy. It's weather proof too! The long handle makes it easy to pull, even if you're an adult. We highly recommend this little tikes wagon.

My daughter has a blast in the wagon, I love the idea of being able to take the side rails down for easy packing. BUT,
the wagon wheels broke the first time we took it out. The wheels are palstic and very noisy, but my main complaint is the quality. The inside of the wheel shattered, it is still useable, but I would recommend rubber wheels, which of course cost extra, and you can only order them directly from the manufacturer.

the wagon is great except i would recommend rubber wheels instead of plastic. In most places roads and sidewalks are not smooth having plastic wheels makes for an extremely noisy ride. You cannot hear your child in the wagon or the person walking with you when your walking. Being that the parent is back on to the child, hearing them if there is a problem from them is very important. I've heard this from many of my friends. they have said if they had a choice thay would buy rubber tires over plastic or replace the ones they have with rubber...

IF YOU BUY THIS WAGON, THE PICTURE THEY SHOW IS WRONG. THE HANDLE IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL SO IT DOES NOT STEER WHICH LEADS TO HAVING STUCK WHEELS. IF YOU WANT TO A HANDLE THAT STEERS IT WILL COST LIKE 20 BUCKS MORE IN A DIFFERENT BRAND
