It took us less than an hour to put together (me and my husband) and the directions were so easy to follow.

I just want to say that we got this for our 1.5 YO son and he loves it. You cannot get him out of it. His almost 4 year old sister loves it as well and they often use it as the centerpiece of their playtime.

I am sure it will last a good long time.

Now on to assembly.

I can see why some people are having troubles and others are wondering what they are talking about. The first one of these we purchased would just not go together. I am a very mechanically inclined person. I have restored cars as a hobby built my own deck and have more tools then Home Depot and Lowes combined. Not handy Manny himself could have got the the first one together. I was not going to get out the files and blades to start shaving plastic. After returning it and checking over the second one at the store The difference in the plastic molding of the root holes in front and rear or the two was night and day. I struggled with the first one for an hour and did not ever get it together. The second one took me less than 20 minutes.

If you get one that will just not go together take it back and get another. A stock guy at the store(no didn't buy from Amazon :-() said he had put together over a hundred cozy coupes and said about one in 20 just will not go together.

We ran into the exact same thing with my neighbor's daughters Cozy Coupe.

So as mentioned by others roof is tricky to put together. I tried following the directions twice. One of the rear supports went in fine the other wouldn't line up, and left a gap. I took everything apart and tried a different approach, which I found to work better.
Lay the roof on its top and insert the rear roof supports, once they are in place and the seams and edges line up correctly secure them in place with the screws provided. Now go back and follow the steps to attach the roof to the front cab supports, the rear supports should be flexible enough to slide inside the cab area. If the front supports don't lock into place right away they will when you lift, the rear supports into place. After doing this everything should be lined up properly.
Also put as many stickers as you can on before assembly begins, its a lot easier to put the grill stickers on when the grill is laying flat on the kitchen table.
As others have said there are some holes that are not predrilled, but in an age where a cordless drill is $30 what is your excuse for not having one?
Overall I found this easy to assemble, and my son should get years of fun out of it. I have tried to make it a bit more real by not installing the "eyes" or the mouth sticker in the grill. A quick trip to the junk yard scored me a 2003 Ram hood badge and two "HEMI" fender badges which with some automotive molding tape should make it a proper first truck. I found those fit best as a set, though I'm sure a blue oval or bowtie will fit on the grill as well.
Finally this is a Christmas present, I gave me son the box, today a month early. He isn't two yet and therefore doesn't realize what the box means for him. This way he has a month of "box" time, and on Christmas morning you wont have to watch your child play with the box instead of the toy. I recommend this to all!

I must have gotten the 1 in 20 roof assembly defects. The plastic roof literally doesn't match and absolutely won't slid together. It looks like a great product, but I think I'm unwilling to roll the dice again and have my two-year old screaming at me about returning "his truck" in the process. Little tikes needs to sort out its manufacturing quality control process.

I bought this toy for my grandson. I thought it would be a great toy and something that would last him a couple of years.

My wife wanted to put it together for him and after about 3 hours, she said she would have to continue it on the next day.

There are many parts to put together and its not very easy to assemble. Whoever thought the design of this toy up was either a former NASA rocket engineer or a sadistic madman bent on inflicting mental torture to poor parents and grandparents.

It is a great toy, but the level of frustration and the degree of complexity in assembling makes it a toy you wish you had not bought!

I ordered this last week. The instructions now have an extra insert that helped getting the truck together. It was easy. Took probably an hour, at most. I used a screw driver, hammer and cordless drill. Don't let other reviews persuade you away from buying this. My almost 3yr old is 100%-tile for height and can fit in it easily, where he is too tall for the regular Cozy Coupe. Definitely recommend this.

The assembly of this is awful. My husband who actually makes his living in construction is having to re drill holes and things still dont line up. The door is so jacked up it cant latch. Very uneven. Little Tikes should be ashamed. Total garbage.

I didn't think it would be possible to find a gift for a 1 y.o that they could actually appreciate. My boy couldn't get out of this car on his b-day. We had the Red Cozy Coupe for my daughter, now 3. But wanted to get something for my son. He is the envy of all the 1 and 2 y.o boys on the playground. Watching him w/no shirt on, leaning back with one leg out the door. I got a glimpse of what he would look like 15 years from now. 3 mos later and he still loves his pick up truck. Also if you're contemplately getting a cozy Coup car for a child that is a little older. This one, although costs more is higher off the ground which means kids that bigger/longer can ride/scoot in this more a year or two more than the classic red cozy coupe which is lower (think smaller/shorter legs).
