Little Tikes BIG Dump Truck

My 2 year old received this for his birthday and out
of all of the toys that he got, this was his favorite.

It is simple, safe, durable and easy for a toddler to use.
The hard plastic is great (he also received a metal version
of this which we have tucked away for him - not safe).

If you buy one dump truck, make this one your purchase.
It's worth it.

This is a nearly indesructible monster dump truck that performs well outdoors. It has a large dumper that holds lots of sand and dumps well. It's pretty simple, but a lot of fun, particularly outdoors. It is almost completely plastic so it hoses off easily.

This is just one fun toy. It doesn't have bunches of buttons or knobs. It is pure creativity, kid driven fun. It dumps and rolls and makes great tracks in the sand. It holds a lot of sand or other items. It is very sturdy and very easy to use.

My one and only complaint is that this is fairly big and doesn't fit anywhere in our house with any ease. But if it were any smaller, it would not be as fun I think.

If you look for toys that inspire creativity, exploration and play, this is a good toy to have. If you want a toy that is fairly quiet, has more than a button you push to make noise, and is easy to play with, this is a good toy to have.

THESE ARE THE MOST DURABLE TOYS I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR JUST ABOUT ANY AGE. BOTH OF MY SON'S FIGHT OVER WHO IS GOING TO PLAY WITH IT, SO I ENDED UP BUYING OTHER KINDS OF THE LITTLE TYKES TRUCK BRANDS AND THEY LOVE THEM. I HAVE ONE FOR INSIDE THE HOUSE AND 2 FOR OUTSIDE. THEY HOLD ON TO THEM FOR DEAR LIFE AND RUN WITH THEM JUST AS FAST AS THERE LITTLE FEET CAN TAKE THEM AND AWAY THEY GO ACROSS THE YARD. I WOULDN'T TRUST MY KIDS TO DO THAT WITH THE METAL TRUCKS OR THE ONES WITH POINTED OR SHARP EDGES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

This really is a great toy. Sturdy, well made. Problem is that the dump bed is very loose, and a 24 month-old trying to figure out how to maneuver a truck gets caught by the ease of the bed flipping up.... Our son loves this, but it was only made useful for him when my handy husband secured the bed with a nut and bolt. Before that, he'd try to push the truck around and the bed would flip... no injury, but many tears when he was struck in the face or fell into the dirt face first...

My 14month old loves his truck. It's the perfect size for his little hands -- and just chunky enough so that it doesn't tip over easily. He really likes the little construction man that came with the truck as well.

I was somewhat worried that this would not be as durable as the Tonka truck made from metal but it is working great. The little person included with the truck has added quite a bit of imagination to the play time with the truck.

The truck seems very nice and sturdy. The truck itself is very nice.

We purchased this toy to replace the worn out one we bought for our oldest child 8 years ago only to discover that the quality is not the same as it used to be. When it was pushed by a 3 year old in the grass, it literally fell apart. The back tire fell off and left an exposed metal screw with the other wheel attached. I thought this was a coincidence and glued it together. Next the other wheel fell off. Needless to say it went into the garbage. Being a Little Tykes fan, I thought I had a lemon and purchased another one. I must be glutton for punishment as the back wheel fell off on the 3rd day during a playdate. What happened to good quality? A metal rod and a small child do not belong togther and why would a toy company screw a metal rod into a plastic wheel?

This truck is not at all like the Little Tikes Car Carrier truck that we have. Children can sit on it and ride it with no problem (the 2 sports cars are equally as sturdy). You have to watch the back of this truck because it is constantly tipping back, causing the child to fall down. It's not designed to be played with the way children of this age like to play.

A friend of mine had to call Little Tikes for a replacement for her truck because the rear wheel kept falling off. Then the whole metal axle would slide out - not a very safe thing with little ones around.

It seems that the newer Little Tikes stuff that is being outsourced to Chinese manufacturers is really junky compared to the stuff that was produced in US factories. Guess they're trying to reduce costs, but the product is suffering.

I would not recommend this product at all.
