4.0 out of 5 stars Little Tykes 2 in 1 Buildin' to Learn, December 25, 2007

When I saw this on the internet I knew I had to have it. Love the product and the verstility. The ONLY complaint I have is that on the outside of the box there is NO listing of the type of batteries you need. I assumed, and we know what that does, that it would need several AA Batteries. Not a chance. So on Christmas morning, we opened the box from Santa and all of the tools excluding one take AAA's the light takes (3) LR44's. Stat trip to the local Walgreens!!! Other than that the boys 4 and 5 LOVE it!!! Just better labelling would help and I hope that this helps someone!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Cool Toy, January 7, 2008

Being a car guy I flipped when I saw this toy. My 3 year old son has dropped everything and has spent all his time taking the valve cover, supercharger, and various car parts off. Putting it together was literaly a snap. Yes it does take non-typical batteries and a lot of them, but with so many noise/light making tools, that was not a problem for me. Though we've only had this a couple days, the quality of this product seems high, especially after putting together one of those ultra-flimsy "bubble plastic" Kitchen sets. Definitely one of the best toys at this price I've ever seen. 4 thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!, January 1, 2008

We got this for our 3 1/2 year old son for Christmas this year. Fortunately my husband went ahead and put this together a few days before and we knew that we needed some off size (AG13) batteries for the light. My son has spent hours taking the car apart and then putting it back together. He loves that the tools actually work like dads. This was definitely a hit!

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter's favorite toy for over a year now, July 13, 2008

My daughter received this toy when she was about 2 1/2. She just turned 4 and still plays with it frequently. The tools make realistic sounds and act like real tools. She uses the grinder to "sharpen" all my plastic and butter knives, puts the car engine and separate little car together and takes it apart again, and takes great pride in explaining to adults how to reverse the power drill and ratchet wrench. It is a great height, and has a small enough footprint that it doesn't take up her entire bedroom. And after all that play, none of the pieces have broken.

My one complaint: it requires, but DOES NOT INCLUDE, 9 AAA and 3 button cell (AG13) batteries. Fortunately, I had them ready to hand. I suggest if you give this as a gift, include the batteries. Button cells can cost a couple of bucks each at the hardware store, but you can get a 50-pack of button cells here at Amazon for $[...].50 of AG13/357A Alkaline Button Cell Watch Battery

We bought this for my son last year when he was 4. He loves this toy and the realistic toys! Its lasted us and still looks new! We also did not know about the light battery so on x-mas morning no batteries for it! I am happy with this product though:)

I bought this for my 3 year old son, HOPING it would occupy some time... He has been playing with it for 4 days straight!! He's a brute, and not yet has any of the peices broke! He's taken apart the car and rebuilt it tons of times, sands the pieces, it's been a lifesafer for me, I've got more done in the last few days than in the last 3 years...
The best workbench out there!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the workshop and love to hear my little boys laughing and playing together!, January 1, 2008

We got this from Santa and it was a huge hit! There is enough "stuff" to keep my 4 and 2 year old sons busy for the long haul. They share with each other because there is plenty to see and do. Santa did happen to preassemble this one ahead of time, so that helped as far as having the correct batteries. We have it in a little makeshift "fort" the boys have created with their Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Home...that Santa brought last year. They have incorporated both toys very nicely, and wear the Tonka hard hats from their dump trucks.

We've noticed the work light won't turn off completely. It is either a high beam or dim light. Other than that, we would buy this all over again.

I had bought this for my then 2 year old since he was so interested in tools. He only played with the tools without the bench for the first year, but now that he is 4, he plays with it on a daily basis. He loves that he can flip the table to the other side and play with the engine. It is really well made and has held up with two crazy boys; just really great quality. Since my 4 year old is autistic, this toy really helps with his fine motor skills and shapes. Such a great toy that will be beneficial and fun for years! So glad I bought it!
