I don't normally leave reviews for products, but since no one else has written a review I thought I'd help out. I gave this sandbox five stars because my two and a half year old daughter loves it so much. She's very big for her age, but she fits it in it just fine. There's also enough room for her beach toys. It wouldn't fit two toddlers, though.

It's been a bit too cold to try out the water side, but I'm sure my daughter will love that feature when our 100 degree days come. As far as the lid is concerned, it fits pretty well. However, on a day like today with 35 mile an hour winds, the lid blew off. So, you'll have to secure it down with bricks or heavy rocks, which is what I did. So far, the lid has kept the sand clean. There are three holes around the top of the sandbox, which means the lid does not fit tight to the box. That might be a problem in the summer when the bugs come out. But hey, I don't think bugs are that big of a deal to a kid.

The thing I love the most about this sandbox is the huge umbrella that comes with it. It really does cover the whole thing, and it protects her skin from sunburn. It's adjustable, so you can move it higher or lower depending on how much shade is needed.

I would certainly recommend this sandbox because it is super easy to put together. I even let my daughter help put the eyes on. Plus, it only uses one 50 lb bag of sand. It says to put 25 lbs in the body- to weight it down. And the rest goes in the sandbox. This allows for about 3 inches of sand. If that's not deep enough for your child, I would suggest getting one of the other bigger sandboxes like the crabbie one. Anyway, I hope this info helps!

Great product like all the Little Tikes products I have purchased. It is durable and just the right size for my 2 girls. They love it. At playgroup it gets a little crowded because it is not made for 10-15 kids...more like 3 comfortably. The pool is great for them to cool off in. Wish this product was a little bigger but is a great item for all little kids. The umbrella shades them nicely so they don't get burnt from the sun.

Cute design that doesn't take up a lot of room when the lid is on. Very easy to put together. The umbrella provides good protection from the sun. It's perfect for my needs which is for my ONE toddler grandchild. If you have older children or more than one child, this is NOT the sandbox for you. I did not rate it high on the educational scale since I don't think of a sandbox as being that much of a learning experience. It's more about fun, and relaxation for a child. I haven't used the pool side yet because it is still too cold here, but I'm sure it will be a hit....not too deep, just enough to splash in.

It is a cute toy, practical and functional. My daughter loves it and she switch all the time between the sandbox and the pool.

So, I ordered this for my daughter's 1st birthday gift. You can imagine how important it was for things to go right... they most definitely did not. It showed up missing a whole wing, I had to contact Little Tikes for a replacement that showed up after her birthday. She had already started using the pieces she had so we never saw a point in putting it together fully. Separately it worked great, better in fact. We move the umbrella all over the yard for kiddie shade, sometimes adult shade. The pool and sandbox were perfect size for her the last few years, it might be a tight squeeze this year, but she'll enjoy them nonetheless, even more as her younger sib will be sitting/crawling age as the weather heats up to sizzling! Really great if you don't have a huge yard, terrible if you have a tiny space (like a balcony... ok maybe a really big one). I hate that this is plastic, I wish it were at least eco plastic and maybe even american made (those would've earned it another star at least).

It does exactly what it was designed to do and looks cute doing it. What more do you really need?

Bought this for my 2yr old niece and she LOVES it!!!! My favorite part is the umbrella so she isn't in the sun! A great out door toy!!!

THis was a gift for my son from my sister. It is great as a pool... but the lid DOES NOT fit on the sand box side, and after the past few rainy days, I opened it up to find the sand flooded... before the sand would just be wet. Buy something else

This scored high on several points for my 21 month old grandaughter.
1)She loves butterflies
2)She loves to be outside
3)She loves water

I did not put any sand in it - just water in both "wings".
I expect to get at least 2 or 3 Summers of fun out of it for her.

My son loves this pool! the umbrella is great for sun protection and its very very easy to put together. I'm challenged when it comes to putting toys together but this way super easy. I haven't put sand in this only water but I can see how the sand compartment would be great too! My son has water in both sides of the pool....this is a great pool for toddlers!

My daughter loves this. it could've had a way to close it better, if it were windy the top would blow off if i didnt put a brick on it, but i anticipated that due to a prior review. It is a great size for both water and sand. not too big not too small. umbrella is sturdy. I picked it up by the body of the butterfly, not so smart a move. i heard a crack, didnt look to see what i snapped but it still works fine, next time i will drag it by the wing :)
