Two Height Configurations Accommodate Different Ages

Electronic Cooking Sounds for Realistic Kitchen Effects

The kitchen features realistic sound effects. Hear food cooking and sounds of appliances--just like in a real kitchen.

Food and Kitchen Accessories

The kitchen includes a variety of play accessories, including various food items, silverware, a frying pan, a spatula, cups, and more. There's a shape sorting lid for the pot and three shape blocks for learning about shapes and colors.

Design and Assembly

The kitchen is composed of a number of hard plastic parts. Adult assembly is required and the use of a powered screwdriver is highly recommended. The layout of the play kitchen is well thought out and includes components of a modern kitchen. Assembly takes about an hour or less.

[If you look at the 5 star reviews, especially the 2nd page, each and every one is rated unhelpful. So, at the risk of someone who hates this product reducing my reviewer rank for no good reason, I'm going to leave a positive review anyway.]

We purchased this kitchen in our local store for $45. I would not have spent $100. The material is like ALL Little Tikes plastic, e.g. the Cozy Coupe. The vent hood will not fall if it is screwed in like the instructions clearly state. Likewise, the white part will not lean forward if screwed in correctly. I have ALL the accessory pieces stored in the oven and fridge, so there is room, but I do plan to get more food and then the accessories will go in small baskets, slid under the counter in Stage 1 and wherever she wants them by the time it is in Stage 2. So, this is really not a big deal to me at all, having to spend $3 on some plastic baskets, and even IF the food it came with had been healthy, I'd buy more b/c it only came with a few foods, anyway. (Update, I bought the Little Tikes Backyard Barbeque Summer Fruit and Veggie Set and it is a great fit and all very healthy!) The stickers do not look cheap when you compare them to every other play kitchens' where most are done in a cartoon design. At least these make an attempt at looking more photographic, and to a non-jaded toddler, they succeed! It doesn't make tons of sounds because it is an imagination-inspiring toy. Many play kitchens make NO sounds, so I was actually surprised when I found the burner took batteries. My child prefers stacking cups, puzzles, books, and blocks to the infamous Ballapalooza, so making noise, and flashing lights are NOT a necessity for her.

There's so many things my children were able to do with the Cook 'N Grow Kitchen, including imaginative play, which they really enjoy. It is fun for them to play "Iron Chef" and having food contests (can you tell we are big Food Network fans?) and the cooking sounds make it seem more realistic to them. The toy is geared to kids 18 months and up and my kids loved opening and closing the doors of the microwave, oven, and refrigerator. The special aspect of this kitchen is that it grows with your child. I love that it can be adjusted to two different heights to enable it to be the perfect size for toddlers and young children. Another great thing about it is that it comes with more than 50 accessories, including food items, kitchen utensils, cookware, and cups and dishes. For the toy kitchens that I have purchased in the past, I always needed to purchase a separate set of the food items, so that was really nice for a change. You can set up the kitchen so it is a good size for toddlers by placing the sink in between the refrigerator and oven. Or if the sink is above the oven and refrigerator, then it works for preschoolers or if you only have a small space to put it in. My kids like to have it in the kitchen so they can "cook" alongside me so the second configuration works better for us. My kids favorite thing about the Cook `N Grow Kitchen is that it looked like a "real" kitchen and that made them feel grown up playing with it. I liked that it only took about an hour of assembly and we had an awesome toy kitchen ready for them to play with!

I bought this for my 1 year old granddaughter. It is the perfect height. She can reach everything, open & close all the doors, and it comes with lots of food. It' s nice to know it will grow with her.

I ordered this kitchen because it was the only play kitchen I found for 1 1/2 year olds and up. I thought the adjustable height was a great feature, and that my son would likely love to play with the oven and fridge door. I ordered this and had it delivered by the very beginning of December, and was excited to have my sons big Christmas gift done so early. Well, a couple weeks later, I decide to take the kitchen out to start putting it together early. Immediately I notice that the microwave door was just barely hanging on, with only tiny nubs of plastic, pushed into holes, holding it on. On mine, the top hole was too big, causing the microwave door to practically fall off. But, even if the hole was appropriate size, a curious baby/toddler could easily twist and pull the door off, and eventually stretch the plastic to the point of the door no longer working at all. I dont know about other parent's children, but my little boy is hard on toys! I also do not like how the oven door opens down (this is a minor complaint, as I'm sure most kitchens are like this), because curious toddlers will most certainly climb on it to access higher things, and probably fall. Overall I was quite disappointed in this toy and returned it immediately. Just for anyone wondering about other options, we chose the Ikea Duktig kitchen, for $79-$99. Its wooden, sturdy, gender neutral, and the oven opens to the side. Hope this review is helpful!
