Little Tikes Handle Haulers Haul & Ride

Our son received this as a present from relatives. The instructions were easy to follow and was put together in short order. For a couple of weeks he had a load of fun with this toy but then the front wheel came off and would not stay on. I contacted Little Tikes directly for a replacement and was told to send them the receipt. I advised them that it was a gift but they would not budge (even though it was two weeks after Christmas). I advised them that it was a one year warranty and the manufacturers stamp and code on the toy was for April of 2009 and that at worse case they should replace it because it wasn't over a year since it came out of the factory. They wouldn't budge. Little Tikes cusotmer service is beyond slow in response time. Our first email to them was on the 1/13 and we didn't even get a first response until 1/21. Eight days to answer an email is unacceptable in my opinion even if there is a weekend in the middle. Thankfully, our relative saves all their receipts and we have submitted it. Hopefully, this will work but seems like very poor customer service over a tiny piece of plastic and the fact that we will avoid Little Tikes now at all costs.

My Son just got this yesterday for his 1st birthday and he's played with it pretty much non-stop. We've just left in the ride-on mode and he's thrilled with it. The 3 buttons for the noises are very easy to push so he's continually hitting them. It's really a great toy.

Edited to add - my son is now 28 mos. and he still loves this truck. He always has fun with it regardless of whether it's in ride-on mode or it's in dump truck mode. I always recommend this to friends with boys.

Fantastic! Easy operation from a truck to be pushed, ride-on with stearing and cool truck sounds from the three buttons on the stearing wheel, to a pull along wagon! The truck sound buttons work in all positions. My grandson adores this toy. Great pricing too! A MUST HAVE!

This truck is superb! We received it for my son's first birthday, 6 months ago and upon installation, we found a problem with the middle wheels not lining up and couldn't be properly installed. I took it back for a replacement and found the same problem. It was the same store though, so I'm making the assumption that they were from the same batch and just unlucky. I called Little Tikes and explained the problem. They took my information and put a request in to the warehouse to send me a replacement but to assemble it first. It took a very reasonable amount of time and the replacement came assembled with no problems. My 17 month old son LOVES this truck and still runs to it often as soon as he's up from sleeping. My 3 year old daughter plays with it as well and it's taken quite a bit of abuse.
I think this is a GREAT first or second ride-on toy for the little ones.
Oh and I shouldn't forget to mention that it does have some sounds through buttons on the steering wheel, but they're the most reasonable volume I've found on any toddler toy. Loud enough to be fun (and with two volume settings) but also quiet enough to not be obnoxious or overwhelming. Way to go Little Tikes, you're definitely at the top of my list!

My daughter loves this truck! She loves to push her toys around in the back and will fill it up with blocks over and over again. She also likes riding around on it, especially since it steers better than some of her other riding toys. The noises are fun too. The only drawback is that at two she cannot change it from stage to stage.

My 18 month old son got this for Christmas. He love love loves it. He thinks it's great fun to raise and lower the steering wheel, he knows how to do it, but it's a bit too tight of a latch for him to operate on his own. As soon as we started putting it together (Light assembly required, he helped, but he also had a blast with the box. I would recommend this product to a friend, or even buy it for another child around his age.

Likes:
- Fun for baby
- Comes with three sounds: horn, back-up beeping sounds, and ignition starter (one press and the truck has problems starting, press it twice and engine revs up for awhile). I enjoy the sounds, they are not annoying like how some toys can be.
- Love the features: dump-truck, hauler, push toy, and walker.
- Colors are bright and appealing

Dislikes:
- Installation was a pain. Couldn't the manufacturers just assemble it themselves, or most of it. It took about 20 - 30 minutes.
- After we installed it the first time we found the middle wheel did not line up! A previous reviewer noted the same problem. You could see where they meant to drill the hole, but something must have slipped because the hole moved and the wheel wouldn't go on. So back to the store for a replacement. This one worked fine, but we had to reassemble - so another 20 - 30 minutes. SO NOTE TO FUTURE PURCHASER: before you go through the trouble of assembly, check if the wheels are aligned first :)

All in all, great item! Really love it as a parent. And baby seems to love it, too, which is all that really matters, right?

My son received this toy as a gift for his 1st Birthday & it has been his fav toy ever since. He is now 21months & his love for this toy hasn't yet reduced. I can vouch that this toy is very sturdy. My son now 22lbs stands on the handle & the rear end of the truck to reach for places beyond his reach. He has been using it like a step stool. He keeps banging it to the floor holding the handle & we haven't noticed any cracks on it yet.He loves to press the buttons on the truck which make a startup sound, he likes imitating that sound.Overall its an amazing & sturdy toy. It looks appealing too.I wud definitely recommend it to any1.

Our boys liked the toy. Unfortunately, the underside of the control handle started fracturing a few days into playtime, and the rod connecting it to the truck cab snapped clean in two after a few more days of play.

Next time we'll get Fisher-Price.

I got this toy for my twin grandsons for their first birthday. My daughter says they love to ride on it and play with it. They like the buttons and noises. Fortunately I also got a Little Tykes Push and Ride Racer which they also love therefore it is not so hard to share. Only concern expressed was the grandsons can't flip the bed of the truck up by themselves so either mom does it or 2 1/2 year old sister has learned to do it. She says they are very sturdy and no safety issues were noticed.
