This review is from: LITTLE LANDSCAPER GARDEN TOOLS (Toy)
We had these 3 gardening tools long before we got the matching red wheelbarrow, and my daughter, who was 21 months when she first received this set, did not really play with them much until recently. With the recent purchase of the wheelbarrow, my now 25 month old help my husband and I in "pretend" play in our garden and enjoys it too. We play at picking up dead leaves by using one of the tools, one tool for each of us, and we swap the tools every so often and learn the names of the tools at the same time. The dead leaves are then put in the wheelbarrow for transportation to a "destruction" site, so we also get to learn about the trees and the flowers in the garden. All in all, very good size for small hands, lightweight but not flimsy, and very durable. The colours too, are very vivid and bright, great in the outdoors so we can always see them.

This review is from: LITTLE LANDSCAPER GARDEN TOOLS (Toy)
This toy has been a big hit with my 18 month old niece. She loves to carry the tools around the garden and occassionally makes a stab at the dirt with them, but she is really too young for this toy - the age guidelines are 24 months to 4 years, and they're right. Even though she is big for her age, the tools are too big for her to use, and she's not much interested in make believe play. Keep in mind that these are plastic toys and wouldn't be useful as real tools - a good thing in the hands of toddlers where heavy wooden handles and sharp medal edges would be an invitation to disaster. There are other similiar and sturdier toys that would be appropriate for older children who might want more realistic play.
