After our 2 year old son learned to climb out of his crib, he wouldn't sleep in his room at all...until we bought him this bed! The side are high enough that he can't roll out and he just thought it was so great he had to tell everyone about his new carbed. There are a few things to keep in mind when buying it though. One is the size. It is a large bed so make sure you have room for it. The second is that there is about 1 1/2" space between the mattress and the bed (for the comforter to fit) and I have found quite a few toys (and other items) down there. We did have a little problem with one wheel staying on and I contacted Little Tykes. They were great and shipped a replacement part to us that came a lot quicker than I thought. But the wheels are only held on by a screw so you have to make sure kids don't pull or climb on the wheels or they will probably come off.

We bought this bed for my son when he was 20 months old and I was pregnant with child #2. He loves it! He loves anything with wheels so we had no trouble moving him from the crib in the nursery to his big boy room complete with car bed (and truck wallpaper border of course!). What I like most about the bed is that the sides are higher than the mattress so that he can't roll out and we don't need a railing. If you feel that you need more of a side I have even seen people take out the box springs so that the mattress is enclosed on all sides. And of course, just like the rest of Little Tikes products, it is very durable. Well worth the money!

My 3 year old loves this bed and finally sleeps though the night! However, it uses a standard size twin mattress (38"wide x 75"long which creates a 4-inch gap along one side or 2-inch gap on both sides. My son gets his arms and legs stuck along the sides and if you put it on one side, his whole body would fit through the gap! I am very disappointed that this product does not fit the mattress as stated.

We bought this bed for our son when he was two. We decided to purchase it due to the sides being a bit higher towards the top. He loved it! He is now 3 1/2 and whenever he and his friends are in his room playing they are always pretending to drive it. It is super durable! He also loves to "stash" his hotwheels cars in the sides so he can play with them when he goes to bed. :) I wish that they made a pink version....I want one for our daughter!

We bought this bed for our older son when he was 26 months old and demanding to get out of the crib. We tried a toddler bed against the wall for two weeks but he kept waking up in his sleep and either a) hitting his head on the wall or b) falling out of bed. When we set up the race car bed, our son was momentarily disappointed at that time that it would not really go, but accepted "only pretend" as a good answer. The high sides were great. He could easily climb in and slide out from the foot. Now at 5 1/2 he still loves his bed. His 3 yr old brother wants it too. Be sure to measure your room -- this bed is long.

One of our friends gave my son this bed when he was 2. He's 4 now and he loves it; so do all the kids that stay over someone always wants to sleep in the "car bed"

My son just loves this bed. I never had to worry about him falling out of it. It is extremely sturdy and after 5 years is still in mint condition. I would recommend this to anyone with a small child.

We bought this bed for our 4 year old who loves cars. This is the most expensive Little Tikes purchase we have made. The hardware that came with the bed did not match what was listed on the instruction sheet and took 4 days to be sent after the bed arrived. Anyone with a 4 year old knows that 4 days is an eternity to them. Also, the assembly was VERY difficult. It took us 2 hours of trying to insert 1 of the 4 long screws. Even now it isn't completely inserted. I normally love Little Tikes toys but this one did not seem up to par.

we bought this bed for our 21 month old, when he started climbing out of his crib. He was so happy when he seen it and was excited to go to sleep, its only been two nights that hes had it and i only had to stay with him for 15 min the 1st night then he went all by his self, and has slept GREAT, he calls it his car-bed. the only thing is that it is hard to put the screws in, we had a hard time with it and the wheel came off, we called little tikes and they fed exd us with a new one. i would suggest anyone moving out of the crib to a big bed is to put up the new bed next to the crib, so it gets the toddler use to sleeping in there be fore they go into their big boy/girl room, it helped amazingly with us, our son is so comfortable with it! love the bed

For the price, I was quite disappointed with the bed we received. The hardware did not properly attach the bed sides to the ends, beasue the bolt holes had been installed incorrectly. The decorative wheels are flimsy, and with a good pull will come off and are not reattachable. The photo gave me the impression that the car would be made from smooth material and resemble a "real" car, but instead it is constructed of the "pebbled" plastic common to most Little Tikes outdoor toys. But my son has seen it, and I am not willing to send it back - I've had enough aggravation for one day! But you, dear reader -- If you are shopping for a bed for your little boy, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
