My 3 year old, Aidan, loves this truck! I made the mistake of letting him ride it around the house since it was cold out when we first got it (crazy Chicago weather) and now he drives it everywhere in the house. I don't really mind because it's plastic and it makes him so happy how can I take it away! Aidan drives it to the stairs when he needs to go up or down and he parks it there waiting for him. He has taken it in the bathroom with him to wash his hands, into the kitchen and had a corndog and sippy cup in it, and he even cleans it with wet wipes! Oh and the first night he even wanted it in his bedroom!
We have played with outside too and he has brought it over to all the neighbors to show them. He drives it like there is no tomorrow! He even makes siren noises! The truck wheels glide perfectly and the steering wheel works great too. We haven't added water yet to the water tank yet, but I am sure that will be a hit when the weather warms up here. It is also roomy in there and not a tight fit.

As for assembly, the Little Tikes directions were awesome. It even mentioned an online video for assembly but my husband had no problems putting it together in about 15 minutes. I will say though if you are ordering this online as a surprise or present, it does come shipped in the actual Little Tikes box, not a brown cardboard box so it will be seen.

Overall, this Fire Truck is more than a hit in my house. My 22 month old has played in it a little bit and enjoys it, but that is only when I can pry my 3 year out! I was especially surprised too that Aidan likes it so much as I didn't realize he is that into fire trucks, so this is not just for fire truck lovers!

My daughter, 3, saw this on TV. Since I am tightly wrapped around her finger, I ordered it. It's relatively easy to put together -- all you need is a phillips screwdriver and a hammer.

PROs:
She loves it! She drives it around, going VROOM VROOM VROOM. She absolutely adores it, even without spraying water everywhere. So that's great. It's easy to put together (though I do end up putting all this type of stuff together, so I'm sure experience helps). But all the parts are there, with extras, and everything fits easily enough.

CONs
1) There's a few spots where you have to screw in the siderails, and I wish they would have marked the spot better. I had to guess.
2) Some of the illustrations took a bit to figure out -- I wish 1 had been blown up a bit more.
3) THE WATER TANK. Here's the biggest of the issues. It works on air pressure. The tank has two pieces that attach to it: the pump, and the hose. The pump is fine. It attaches well to the tank. The hose blows. It attaches horribly. It is not tight enough, so that when you pump, air comes out around the house. This makes it, basically, broken.
My fix: duct tape. it fixes everything! I wrapped 2 pieces around the base where the hose is supposed to screw on. Then I screwed on the house. The extra thickiess was perfect, and made for a much better seal. It then worked perfectly.

If the tank would've have needed duct tape, this would be a five.

The boy I nanny for received this as a birthday gift for his second birthday. He has both the red classic Cozy Coupe and the blue truck Cozy Coupe (which I love). Unlike those two products this does not have a door he can use to get in and out of. The hole to get out of is tight and it's not easy for him to exit. He isn't the best at jumping and has had great difficulty trying to figure out how to get out of this thing. His solution is to stand on the seat and jump with both feet out, which he does with little success. If I were purchasing a car for a child who is too big for the cozy coupe but maybe is not quite big enough to be able to jump from a foot high down to the ground I would purchase the Little Tikes Cozy Truck.

We just got this from Toys R Us and my 2 year old absolutely loves it. The hose works great (as long as you close it correctly) and its pump and water squirting mechanism was made for little ones to be able to work it themselves. This is a great outdoor toy to ad to your child's collection.

I was really excited to find this for my 3 year old grandson as he loves fire trucks and we recently sold all his baby toys at our garage sale. It was time for something to suit his age now! The problem with this truck is the water tank doesn't hold any air pressure therefore you have to pump while they spray! It's a pain in the butt. Luckily he does enjoy pushing it around and filing it up with gas with the gas pump we bought him....

My boy got this for his first birthday. We have had a ton of fun with it indoors so far as everything is snowcovered outside. He knows how to "flintstone" it around and when he's being lazy, it doesn't kill my back to push. Putting it together wasn't hard. We haven't tested out the pump with actual water yet, but when it's pumped while empty, it has really good air release pressure. So i'm not worried about leaks. It's very cute, my son has no problem getting in and out of it, and for a first car it's fantastic!
