Little Tikes Easy Store Large Slide

We bought it for our 1 3/4 yr old and she has so much fun on it. I wouldn't get it for anyone much younger as they can pick up a little speed. She keeps going on over and over without it losing any of the novelty each time. My 4 yr old even likes going on it but at that age it doesn't keep her entertained too long unless everyone is watching and she can be the center of attention. Overall a great value and well worth the $ as some of the other little tikes systems run hundreds of $. Also very easy to put together and put away. We have ours in the basement and are thinking about getting another one for outside.

I'll start off with the assembly....it took me about 40 minutes to assemble this slide by myself. If my husband had been home, it would have been together in about 5 minutes. Why did it take me so long? I wasn't quite strong enough to snap the ladder and its base together. You need to put some force behind it when snapping the pieces together as shown in the instructions and my 115lbs of body weight weren't enough. Fortunately my hammer was. If you are on the lighter side, I would recommend having a more brawny person help out with the first step. Once I got past the first step in the assemply process it was a breeze.
I should also note that the box the slide comes packaged in is big (about 5'2" in length) and probably won't fit in a small car unless the seats fold down and you aren't bringing your child with you to the store. Fortunately for me, I got in on the free shipping offer during the sale and I had mine delivered.
Once assembled my 20 month old was thrilled to have her very own slide. She had grown attached to our neighbors slide so we thought it was time to get her one. I really feel that this is a great toy for little kids. It's not too high up, but they can still pick up a good amount of speed coming down. The slide is strudy and will certainly make the long haul.

I would not hesitate once on buying this toy. This slide is durable, and the steps are wide enough to make climbing simple for our 2 year old. The extra wide base at the bottom of the ladder is great for safety, as it makes it very difficult to tip over. This was an excellent purchase!

Our little girl is nearly two, and she simply loves this slide! At first, she was a little afraid of it because it is taller than the ones she has used in the past. But once she got over that, she fell in love with it. She climbs up the slide all by herself, and then exclaims "Whee!" as she goes down. Definitely a keeper!

The slide took about 25 minutes to put together. The hardest part was getting the little hinge bar through the holes. You certainly need a long wooden pencil to assist in guiding the rod through the holes (as is shown in the instructions).

This product has brought lots of joy and entertainment to our daughter. It has helped her climbing ability, balance, coordination, and best of all, smiles and fun all day long. This is a wonderful item! I highly recommend this item for any age.

I've got considerable experience of assembling and repairing things over the years, and I don't like to be beaten, but this slide went straight back to the shop. As others have noted, attaching the base to the ladder is not trivial - we bent the step in the process.

But attaching the metal clips to the rod was impossible. After spending about an hour hammering away with mallets and hammers and eventually just slamming the thing on the ground, feeding the rod through both the ladder and the slide just was not possible. The darn rod just kept bending. It's a tight fit at the best of times.

Whoever at Little Tikes thought it would be smart to save a couple of cents by using a hollow plastic rod has cost the company a lot of goodwill. If you do have one of these and can't take it back, the best thing I can suggest is to go to your local hardware store and buy a threaded metal rod and a pair of nuts.

Don't buy this slide - Step 2 make a very similar one that, although it costs a little more, is almost entirely preassembled; it took me a couple of minutes to put together. Our daughter - who was in tears as I took the Little Tikes slide away - was overjoyed by the replacement.

I bought this slide because it looked easy to assemble. There was no quality in the way the molded plastic fittings were manufactured. The base and ladder couldn't be assembled because the locking portions didn't match. The plastic rod used in assembly bent and couldn't be made to fit it's connections. It will be returned-shame on Little Tykes, they need quality control!

I hear that everyday! This slide is awsome! I use it inside in the winter, outside in the summer (I even put the end in my lil pool and the kids had fun for hours!)
Its sturdy and fun.

The slide rocks!

Just picked up this slide for $59.99 at Toys'r'us. What a great investment. My children will probably get at least 10 years of use out of it!! This slide will be used for a long time because of its durability and size. The first thing I thought of was "a mammoth" when I saw the size of this thing fully assembled! The size would definitely be a problem if it was like the older Little Tikes slide that didn't fold up for storage. My children absolutely love it! They can use it in the playroom in the winter and take it outside in the summer.

Almost impossible to put together. It would be nice if all of the pieces fit properly. There has to be a better way.
