Little Tikes Thomas and Friends Toy Box

Bought this for my 2 kids to put all of their smaller toys in. Very easy to put together, probably took a total of 10 mins. Very sturdy plastic and the railway integrated on top of the lid is also awesome, because they have thomas the train toys that can go with it. It's a decent size not to big and not to small plus the pouches on the side can hold stuffed animals, and smaller toys. My only complaint with it, is that the lid doesn't click into place, it just rests on top. (so you can flip it upside down for the train track) Other than that it's easy for the kids to open and close. Good toy chest for a decent price, would recommend to anyone with kids w/lots of toys!

I may have missed it in the product description on-line, but I don't recall seeing the fact mentioned that the two side-walls and the floor of the toy chest are fabric rather than a rigid material. The bottom of the chest does not seal entirely. Those issues may not matter in some instances, but if you intend to put anything heavy in the chest or if you have small items that will gravitate toward the bottom, this may not be what you're looking for. It remains to be seen how the chest will hold up under daily use by active children, or in the event it needs to be moved from place to place. I have my doubts about the product's durability.

As another reviewer complained about, the lid isn't permanently hinged and just sits on top with a couple of round pegs on either side to serve as hinges. However, the problem is that when the lid is opened it doesn't stay open, it will sit precariously in the open position for a few seconds and then fall back down. The lid is actually quite heavy and able to hurt. My son is 2 1/2 and is able to open the lid but EVERY time it falls on his head or hands as soon as he tries to reach in the box. He gets as much frustrated as hurt because he can't understand why this box keeps hurting him. Yes, it's cute and durable, but the thoughtless and dangerous design make it unworthy of the Little Tikes logo.

The box performs the function it was designed to do. Hold toys.

However, the lid is not attached and is heavy. It easily slides off when opened and will scratch up your wall if it's against the wall. It's also quite noisy when that happens.

The lid is the biggest disappointment - but as I said, the box serves it's purpose.

I purchased this toy box for our Grandson for Christmas. It is GREAT. Stores quite a few of his toys, he loves Thomas & Friends. I find the side pouches excellent storage for his books. It was an excellent choice for his age, & having had past experience with Little Tykes Toys, I knew that this would be dureable.
Amazon makes it easy & simple to purchase just about anything.

We bought this for my son (Age 2, a Thomas fanatic) for Christmas. When he unwrapped the box, he was ecstatic. I think its his favorite gift!

Assembly: I put this together (mom) by myself in about 30 minutes. All you need is a philips screwdriver. Assembly wasn't too difficult.

How its made: I knew before buying it that the sides and bottom of this toybox were a fabric. Grandma was dissappointed, she was upset that it wasn't the same as all other Little Tikes toyboxes and plastic all sides. Im just not sure why Little tikes did this, but they did use a very sturdy material that fits snugly, and sturdy metal thick poles are what attaches the front and back of the toybox to one another, and the red fabric has "sleeves" the poles slide thru.
I think it will be just fine.
Other than the gripe about the fabric, and the lid which I will address in a moment, we are 100% satisfied with this product.

The lid: LOVE the idea of a train track on the inside, and so does my son. But when you flip the lid over, it doesn't fit snugly on top of the toy box again. Is it only supposed to be sat on the floor? Hmm. It's annoying that the lid keeps shifting while he is playing with it upside down on the toybox. But really not a big deal.

Note: Take N Play Thomas trains are too narrow of a wheelbase for this track. It works with Wooden Railway Thomas just fine.

All in all, a great little adorable toybox for any Thomas lover. We love it... would buy again.

My 3 year old loves this toy box, he can store all of his trains in it. He flips the lid over himself and plays on the other side with the track that is provided on the lid. I love it because he takes care of his toys himself, he gets a lot of use out of his toy box.

Overall it is a good sized toy box and our child likes it. The sides and bottom are cloth, I am not sure I am happy about that.

This is a great product for any Thomas fan. My 2 year old nephew loves it. He has an easy time putting all his toys away.

It is so cute and durable. (Lets just put it this way. My son has learned to flip the toybox vertical and likes to stand on top of it.) It's not broke yet which just goes to show how great it is. My son breaks everything! I would definitely buy this for your child!
