My three year old nephew wanted a guitar for his birthday, and this one seemed to be the best fit overall for variety of music, volume and visual appeal. It has been a huge hit and my sister-in-law gives it a high mark, so I'm delighted! There isn't a lot of opportunity for him to actually "play" the guitar but he can strum along and dance to it. I think it would be a good fit for kids 2-5 years old.

we got the red guitar for my little boy last year I think and he loved it. It came up missing and when we were walking in the store he saw this one on the shelf and grabbed for it. Its pretty much the same aside from the color. He loved it then and loves it now. I think he missed it so much cause now he has a hard time putting it down. he likes to play it like a guitar and he also likes to just push the buttons and jump on the couch to the music. Big hit with my then 2 and now 3 year old.

My two year old loves this toy, and it's the first thing his friends pick up when they come over (his friends are anywhere between 18 months and 4 years old). It's nice for him to have a toy where the music does not make my ears bleed, but actually gets me to hum along. My husband also plays with it, so I guess that it is good for kids and parents alike!!

I bought this for my 22 month old so that he can "play" guitar when my husband plays his real guitar. It has been even more popular with my 4 year old, who loves the selection of music and the myriad of effects. The toy is very sturdy; my only complaint is that the volume, even at "low", is still quite loud.

1) It actually plays GOOD music (The Police? B-52s? - nice!)

2) My 2 YO and 4 YO both think it's a blast. My camera is loaded with video of them jamming out on the coffee table.

3) It's inexpensive and sturdy. I'm a big fan of toys that don't cost much but get tons of play out of them.

I spent a lot of time considering acoustic guitars and came to two conclusions - they're expensive and won't hold a tune. Although they LOOK like little instruments the strings are so flimsy you're never going to get any decent music out of them. This makes them relatively useless and the kids tire of them quickly. This one is clearly a toy - it isn't a stepping stone to teaching your kids music theory. But it's FUN.

We gave this to our 18-month-old for Christmas to replace this other one we had that only played two songs and the buttons stuck. And this one has been great! Our little girl loves playing with it and also loves to watch me or Daddy play with it, too! We actually can tolerate the songs since they are songs we grew up with. It's a lot of fun!

When shopping for this, I also noticed a smaller one designed more for the "toddlers" with less features, but honestly, I just thought it would be good to go ahead and get this one so the appeal would last longer, hopefully. I know the age says for like 3 and up or something, but really younger kids can have fun with it, too!

My newly turned four year old wanted a guitar for Christmas and we couldn't decide between a "real" guitar and a toy one. Eventually, we decided to go with this toy guitar and I'm SO GLAD we did! My son LOVES this guitar and tells everyone it makes him a "Rockstar"! I think it's great that the songs are real "grown up" songs and not some baby tune. We have 3 year old twin girls and a 18 month old son who also love the music and lights. Our six year old girl has played with it a couple times too, but doesn't seemed too impressed. Overall, this toy is a hit in our house!

This is a fun colorful toy! My six-year-old loves it but it is probably better suited for 2-4 year old. (My son just loves toy guitars.) I especially love that the music it plays is not as tinny and annoying as many of the toy guitars (we have four). This one is my favorite!

My Grandson just turned 3 years old and loves his Little Tikes Guitar. He sings along with it and is facinated with the lights. I highly recommend it.

The kids love it. It is a big hit around here. Cute little lights and popular songs that play for about 15 seconds. Good buy for little guys.
