Ok so i just picked up the new Unwed Sailor release. Admittedly, I have been a little disappointed in their last album. I LOVED The Faithful Anchor album, but found the Marionette album less inspiring, shall I say boring? But believe me, form the opening track of Little Wars, I was hooked. Have been listening to it all morning. The textures are awesome, great melodic lines, and very much along the lines of The Faithful Anchor, but without the bass driving the melodies. I am an instrumental post-rock musician myself and of course that is all I ever listen to as well. This album rocks - very very good - do yourself a favor and checkk it out!

Best of 2008 - great instrumental rock,

Finding out about good bands I had no clue about involves mixed feelings. I feel bad that I missed on the chance to enjoy their music earlier. At the same time, I feel happy that I finally got to learn about them. This is the case with Unwed Sailor. They have been around for a decade now, with nine albums under their belt.
Their sound in "Little Wars" brings to mind elements from The Album Leaf, Dead Cab for Cutie (without vocals), They Will Destroy You and The Sea And Cake. Highly recommendable instrumental rock that made easily into the ranks of the Best of 2008 for me thus far.
