5.0 out of 5 stars Innovative ride!
WOW! The story didn't just roll along, it climbed and reached and extended and pushed, it thrilled and captivated and repulsed, my eyes were popping out, I couldn't believe the torment these characters went through, and then, the last twist, a totally unique surprise, and equally disturbing, moving, and unbelievable. 3.0 out of 5 stars An Average Read, for a MTV-viewing Crowd
"Does Anyone Read Anymore?" the signs proclaimed. My friend Brad brought them to my attention, knowing I'm a reader/writer.

We were stranded a second day in LA trying to get home from our month-long India/Thailand study program, and spent that second day walking up and down Venice Beach, where Peter Joseph Gallagher caught our attention.

Peter is...

What a fantastic and innovative commentary on modern day society!

I'll be honest, I didn't have high expectations for a book from the self-publishing world, although the blurb on the back was interesting enough, but sometimes that's the best part. **Not in this case!** I LOVED how the e-mails were firsthand accounts of what happened in retrospect, and laced through the ongoing story line. It heightened the sense of anxiety and expectation, and got me involved in getting to know these characters and what (I didn't know at that point) terrible things were about to happen to them. If you're looking to be coddled by an author with a safe conventional style, this is not the book for you. If you're a thrill seeker, then don't wait to pick up your own copy!

For a first-time author, the achievement here is spectacular: I brought Kurt Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle" to read on the beach, but I easily sacrificed that for this book. And Mr. Vonnegut is one of my all time favorite writers. I bought three more copies to give to friends, who are also in the MFA in Creative Writing program with me, as well as referring my friends to buy it (and they have, and loved it).

5.0 out of 5 stars Little White Trip, August 23, 2007

This book is most excellent. After all it begins with a simple relateable journey of some kids finishing high school and beginning an epic adventure in the mountains only to be thwarted by mysterious circumstances. The author show's a preference to plot twists and interesting characters that follow the reader past the expiration of the book. It includes all of the elements and is highly comparable to average teenagers (minus a few details)

I would definitely recommend this book to a friend who enjoys fast-paced and stimulating literature.

After years of being force fed tastless books through the public education system i lost most of my desire to read. I am so glad that I can across Peter's book "Little White Trip" because it revived the long lost part of me that truley loves to read! It only took me two days to finish the book [which is speaking wonders for me] because it was difficult to pry it from my hands, and when i did manage to step away from the book it was ALL i could think about! I hope that you buy this book and experiance the adventure that Peter has created for you, and support this new author in his quest for well diserved fame.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent mystery, July 24, 2007
This review is from: The Little White Trip (Paperback)
I got this book for christmas- it came in a great package, and I'm so glad to have a 1st printing, signed edition. Gallagher has an excellent sense of narrative, and the book kept me in my room reading for hours until I was done ! I'd recommend it to anybody who likes mysteries- this one has a great twist!

5.0 out of 5 stars this trip had me spinning...., July 21, 2007
This review is from: The Little White Trip (Paperback)
Ok, so I've never left a review for a book before, but I had to for this one. I've read many books in my day, but Peter Gallagher's 'The Little White Trip' was the only one I HAD to finish the same day. I simply could not put it down...literally...I took it to the bathroom with me!
=]
Like a roller coaster ride with a severe twist at the end, my heart was up and down in my chest the entire way through.
I've heard some people say that they didn't like the first half because it was too drawn out. If you thoroughly enjoy your reading at all, you'll love the way Peter develops his characters and makes you have a connection with each of them. If you're just in it for pure gore, go watch a horror movie. This is real, this is intense...and anyone with half a brain will love it. Emails and letters from the sole survivor of the story are thrown in periodically in just the right places to add that much more to the mystery.

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a good read. All of my friends that I borrowed the book to already went out and bought a copy for themselves! Don't pass this one up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey Peter..., July 21, 2007
This review is from: The Little White Trip (Paperback)
i bought your book from you on the beach, i finished it two days later... and have read it a total of three times now. after i read it, it instantly became one of the top on my favorites list. i love your style and storytelling abilities. i love how your book isn't just some lame thriller that just makes up a bunch of nonsense, it told a story. and it was as if i was being told the story by the local that knows all the fun stories, such an intriguing tone. can't wait for the movie =)... your book took me on the best kind of trip i have ever been on.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Trip Worth Taking!, July 21, 2007
This review is from: The Little White Trip (Paperback)
This is one of the most creative and original stories i have ever read! It's written with a voice that makes you feel like you are sitting in a smokey bar, sipping jack and coke while a good friend recounts his vacation for you. Once I took a look at the first page, I did nothing but sit in the sun and read this book until I reached the end. This is a fantastic success for the first time writer, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good time.

I read on the ride to work, on my lunch hour, and on the ride home...I Tivo'd my shows so I could read instead...It was ridiculous how I couldn't stop...and...the ending...WHAT THE...? You rock...write another one...we're waiting!

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't put it down... page turner!, August 31, 2007
This review is from: The Little White Trip (Paperback)
I just finished it 5 minutes ago and my reaction is WOW! Very rarely do I ever read a book in one sitting. Not only that, but this is a genre that I normally wouldn't even consider reading. Like many other reviewers I had the pleasure to meet Peter on Venice beach. As a fellow author, "Our Life on the Run"..., Peter was gracious enough to exchange book for book. Peter, you did a terrific job keeping me glued to this tale. My favorite character was Dura...and I just couldn't believe what happened to her. You did an excellent job building your characters, keeping me in suspense, and....well, I'll reserve any comments on the ending other than it was unexpectedly good. Highly recommended suspense thriller.

The little white trip deserves a 5 star rating. Religious nuts have a hard time understanding what is fiction and what is non-fiction. Its got structure, suspense, character arcs, the whole nine. This books off the hook. I don't know why they haven't made it into a movie yet or shown it on Oprah. But woudn't surprise me one bit to see it on the book clubs list. I highly recommend everyone buys it. I even hear you can spot the author on the Venice Beach Boardwalk, but he's kind of crazy.
