This book inspired me to try yoga! Easy to follow poses,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
I'm taking my first yoga class next week after reading this book!! The author's personal account of using yoga to improve her health is inspiring. What prompted me to explore yoga myself though was her explanation of how it can benefit others, plus her down to earth approach to yoga. She has easy to understand descriptions and depictions of poses and breathing exercises. She also emphasizes that yoga is an activity that can be beneficial upon first attempts but is even more useful if one is patient and practices over time.

Good things come in little packages,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
I have been taking yoga classes for over a year, have several videos and cds. However, I carry this book with me. Whenever I have a wait in an office, I just do a few simple stretches from the book. Some mornings I only have 15 minutes, and I choose a few from each section. The poses are easy to understand, the descriptions are well written. This book is simple, yet powerful.

It helped me change my unhealthy, fast-paced life.,

This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
Living in the fast-paced city of LA, working a the fast-paced industry known as show-biz, I never thought I'd have the time or the inclination to slow down for even ten or twenty minutes a day to focus myself let alone to breathe. Dillman managed in her book to lead me easily and entertainingly into trying out yoga. Now it seems that I have more time and I get more done than ever before. I've given several copies to friends, and they've all thanked me.

This book is a great start for a person interested in yoga. The pictures are helpful. The descriptions great. It is a wonderful size for taking to the gym or anywhere. If you are interested in getting into yoga this book would be of great assistance. I have given a couple away as gifts so far.

Great for those who think that yoga is beyond them,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
I loved this book! It helped make yoga postures accessible and unintimidating, unlike the plethora of others on the same topic. Dillman's emphasis is on neither the purely mystical nor the purely athletic yoga experience, but on the practical and playful benefits of yoga practice. Never sanctimonious, this book really got me stretching and moving. I'd love to see more by her...maybe on meditation.

Yoga, tea, soy, & pilates,
By Larry (Portland, OR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
As I was in the "downward-facing dog" yoga position enjoying Oolong tea with a dash of soy contemplating my little pilates workout that I had just completed, I thought, "darn that Erika Dilman, if she hasn't completely changed my "little" life for the better"!I look forward to her next little book and hope she considers "the little prostate care book" for her next project.

Yoga for real people!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
This book is the answer to years of practicing yoga and never being able to really integrate it into my life. Thorough but easy to follow instructions and an attitude of genuine yet practical spiritually make this book really refreshing. Although it's small enough to be portable, I own two copies. One at home and one at work!

my travel companion,
This review is from: The Little Yoga Book (Paperback)
I love this little book. The author is motivating and the poses are described accurately. However I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner without any yoga experience. It does help when you know the poses. The routines at the end are nice and easy to follow. It's small enough to fit in any bag and doesn't weigh anything when you need to watch the weight (flying).

This is a great yoga book that I can carry with me wherever I go. It comes very handy particularly when I'm traveling and can't make it to the classes. The yoga exercises are a good variety and you can really pick what works for you and what doesn't depending on what stage of yoga you're comfortable with.
